I am glad u were able to detox safely and that u are getting over it...I am sorry about your situation and that u r unhappy in your marriage...that is a miserable feeling that I still remember very vividly...keep posting and glad u got back to let us know how u did
hello to you all. i was a stranger and you offered your guidence, support and strength, words can't say what that means, just to be able to reach out blindly and having a firm, loving hand to recieve yours, the strangers hand. so thankyou. i made it through, this time, and i know how luckey i am, my detox stage from the firocet is almost complete. i took 2 this morning, i really don't think i'll need anymore.i'm not in recovery...even after a scare like that. i'm a mother who needs her little helpers. i'm the wife of a alcoholic who couldn't deal with him with out that valuim. i'm just miserable. there are some really hard decisicions i'll be making in the near future. i'll pray to st.anthony, the patron saint of all things lost....he's never let me down before, but then i've never asked him to help me find myself before! take care everyone! thanks a lot again.i'll be dropping in from time totime michelle
Unfortunately having sezuires has nothing to do with ones intelligence or even knowledge of the drug they just happen. They can be deadly .Your taper Plan really needs to be set up by a doctor ,that has a good amount of knowledge in barbiturates. Good luck
I still really think you should go to a doctor or some kind of crisis center. Valium may not be the right answer for fiorcet w/d. They might want to try another barb like phenobarbitol. I'm not a doctor, but this is my opinion. I have had seizures so I understand your concern. You have a very good reason to be worried, and you don't have to go to a detox center to get off of them.
Good luck
Lisa
I am feeling your dilemna....seizures are a big risk with withdrawal from that drug...if you do this without medical supervision...911 or go to the er if need be...please be safe...there are alot of doctors out there who could help and at least supervise you while you do this...it would be much safer and probably help your cance of success...I could not ever go to rehab either as I am a nurse and they report it to the board of nursing and then mess with your nursing license..but a doctor/patient relationship is private...please consider it
hi, thankyou for your concern. i'm sure your right, thankyou for taking the time to read my post and give me a reply. this may sound altogether crazy to you, but i'm pretty sure i know what i'm doing enough at least not to kill myself. valuim is a benzo, and i wouldn't mix them,i'd replace the fiorcet with the valuim. the lowest dose possible i really can't go into detox, well, the literal place .i posted on here to find out if anyone had detoxed from fiorcet, and what they did. feedback is go to the hospital, andi know, but it's not happening. thanks again. is FL for florida??? bet your having great weather! thanks agan! michelle12566
I think mixing valium or a benzo with the fiorcet even while tapering sounds like a bad very dangerous idea.
I understand about not going to the doctor, but is your pride and reputation worth more than your life?? Because it may come down to that. Either go to the doctor or risk having a seizure or worse while you tried to take care of this yourself. I am not normally this blunt but your are playing russian roulette here.
hi, thanks.40mg per tab, so i'm taking about1gram a day. i'm keeping a journal today i needed 8 every 8 hours.i was going to try 7 tomorrow, but if i need 8 i'll take the eight. i'm also going to ge tsome valuim.there are a lo tof reasons i can't go to the hospital.. just onei s that i'm a nurse who worked in the area...yeah i know there are other areas, but i just can't give up the control of taking care of myself. i know... stickin thinkin. thankyou you all for your posts
. Barbiturate withdrawal requires pharmacotherapy and admission to hospital for patients who have taken more than 0.4 g/d of secobarbital or an equivalent amount of another barbiturate for 90 days or longer, or 0.6 g/d or an equivalent dose for 30 days or longer, or who have had withdrawal seizures or delirium; phenobarbital loading is recommended. Regular benzodiazepine therapy that has lasted at least 3 months should be gradually stopped. Short-acting agents should be replaced with long-acting ones, such as diazepam, to avoid withdrawal symptoms. Most of these patients can be managed on an outpatient basis
Hi Michelle,
What are the ingredients in your floricet and how much are you taking? I was on floricet for a few years for migraines, but I didn't have any wds from stopping because some of them have a very low dose of a benzo. What they DO have in high doses (at least some of them) is caffeine. If your are taking a lot of them, that might be the cause of you feeling ill. Is there any place you could go to for help? You could even just try a doctor and tell them you were on floricet and want to get off and ask for help. Floricet is so commonly prescribed, they probably wouldn't think any thing of it.
Good luck! Sorry I couldn't be more helpful!
I can't answer about the fioricet, but I do know you want to be careful taking those benzos.Stick around someone well informed will helpyou. There are alot of good people here.
I don't know anything about fioricet but I wanted to tell you that you are in my thought and I wish you the best of luck.
