five years in the books

I was using opioids for ten years, but the first five were more using here and there, call it "honeymoon phase". So now I've been clean as long as I was in a "committed relationship" with opioids. Funny how it's such a big national crisis now. Back in 2003-04 I used to order Vicodin off the Internet. Doctors gave it out like candy. Sowing the seeds of the current crisis but no one seemed to care back then! I personally don't blame the doctors. I knew what I was doing, there was no wool over my eyes.

Life is such a gift. In some ways, I appreciate it much more having lived through an addiction. I surely do appreciate all the kind people here. You helped me and your stories continue to inspire. Thank you!
