I think it just affects each person differently, as all drugs do. For me, its a low dose and i take it three times daily, i dont feel drowsy during the day, im free from the horrible restless legs, and when i go to bed, i can sleep. Im sorry to hear of any bad experiences, and thankful that it works well for me. I did read of some lawsuits, from what i read it was againt pfeizer for their salespeopke were pushing off label prescribing, which happens with most meds, on account of the efficacy for many symptoms....everyone reacts differently i guess. Keep hanging on.  S

Neuorontin is also a drug that has many side effects with many law suits against the drug. Even though, I know tons of people taking this medication with surprising results with pain as well. I was prescribed this med. after pulling a ulnar nerve in my arm. For me I was on a high dose and became loopy. It was scary because mu mind would just blank out leaving me in a total confusion and embarrassing. I weaned myself off and didn't take them for years yet have also took a chance on them through the w/d process. This pill is joke and should be something people need to really lookin into and pray about before start this medicine.
So happy to hear your recovery is goin well and hope your day is filled with hope anf joy which will strengthen your inner most being making each day better positioning yourself for your victory.

I was prescribed Gabapentin when I went through tramadol withdrawal, along with clonidine.  I still felt really lethargic and didn't want to do much or eat, but I was only taking the gabapentin at night, so I don't know how much it helps during the day.  I've heard a lot of people talk about how much it helps!  Good luck!

Gabapentin (neurontin) is a prescription drug that is used primarily for people with nerve pain.  It's non-narcotic, and as far as I know non-addictive.  It helps while detoxing because it has a calming effect and takes the edge off of anxiety, allowing your mind and body to relax - and get some much needed sleep.

Hi Bub,

When I stopped taking hydros, the gabapentin helped alot.  It took the edge off of the anxiety, and helped with sleep as well, which is difficult to come by when you're going through detox.

I hope you have the same good results.

Good luck to you and keep posting so we know how you're doing.

Well wishes...

Sandy :)

Hi bub,

I'm not sure if you're asking a question or just stating that you're taking gabapentin.  Post again if you have any questions or further comments so we can help.

Well wishes,

Sandy :)
