help my newborn son is detoxing

I tolled my car superbowl sunday two years ago, and ever since have been in pain managment i am given oxycodone 30mg, lortab 10mg, xanix 2mg, and soma 350mg. i was acctuly thinking serioulsy about having the surgury on my back the nuro surgion has been trying to takl me into then I found out I was pregant I admittly stop taking all my meds but my back and neck hurt so bad I starting taking oxycodone and lortabs again I took the oxycodone everyday but only the lortabs when I had two. About 5 times or so durning my pregancy i had a panic attack had to take a xanix. when I delevervied my son we both tested postive for oxycodone and xanix which I told the nurse's that I was on and even brought my script history for them about 24 hours after my son was born he started withdrawing the put him on a medication and started this score system for every withdraw symtom he had he got a point that night he scored a 25  by the next night he was scoring 6 and 7's. Then I was discharged from the hospital but he had to stay tell he 6's for 2-3 days then he could come home and I would continue giving him his medication when I'm with him durning the day he scores 5 and 6's but when I leave to go home he goes from 8-15 with the nurses taking care of him its now been a week and hes doctor said the medication is nont helping him even know he scores what he suppost to with me taking care of him I asked him why cant I just take him home and countinue giving him the med u know he scores good with me and he said the meds should make him score good all the time so he transvered him to a special childrens hospital where the can take care of him more and give him more attention. I feel horrible I must of went on this site at leat a hundred times durning my pregancy and almost everyones answers were there babys were ok on my meds. why is my son not? help me  please tearing in two

i am very sorry also to hear of the problems with your son. i used vicodin throughout my pregnancy for whiplash injury to neck and in the last trimester used valium a few times and xanax. the doctor was aware of all of this and also monitored him when he was born and he didnt have any withdrawal symptoms thank god. ii just had to go for corset injections today into my neck and now instead of vicodin they have me taking morphine er. i told the docotr i had aproblem with the vicodin that i was addicted and now he puts me on morphine er??? and tramadol as needed?? i dont understand that either. but i guess he knows what he is doing. i know the most vital part of the pregnancy is the first trimester how many times a day were u taking the oxycodone 30mg?? they recommend to try to wean yourself down some before delivery but it is also unsafe to totally stop it when pregnant cuz of the risk of withdrawal u and baby would face together. so u cant win either way.. dont understand how exactly the scoring system works.. at least he will be in a special hospital where they will be more prepared to help him. hang in there. i know its hard my son is only 4 months old and i was so worried the whole time i was pregnant that i was going to harm him but i was in the same situation as you constant pain, unable to sleep because of it. its a terrible thing to have to deal with every day of your life.. let us know how he is you will be in my prayers

Xanax is very dangerous durning pregnancy and is not supposed to be taken at all .Oxy is addicting we make sure all of our pregnant mothers know this .Yes we have had members that have had baby's while on these meds that have not been born addicted .However we have had some that are .

I am sorry for both you and your baby I hope that the children's hospital can help him.Did your doctor know you were taking them ? I truly hope he is ok Let us know how you are both doing .
