how long does it take for your liver to be affected

i really would like to know how long or how much a day for how long does it take for your liver or kidneys to start getting damaged and sick from using narcotics because i read everything and it always says dnt take to much can cause liver failure and even when im in pain im thinking if i take this am i going to damage something and i know u  cant damage your organs from taking a few pills every once in awhile  as needed but this is a site where we go on for answers or advice so i really want to know do you have to take them for weeks or months and a large quantity a day or more than your body is suppose to have in a day thanks for your time whoever answers this post

everyone is different...so there is no true time frame...someone can use for many years without any liver damage//another can use for months and have damage....best not to chance it

I was told by my doctor tonight that when it happens, its sudden.. She said there are few warning signs and mostly it comes a surprise..

Its  really hard to say how long, so many things come into play such as what you take, how much, how long, healthwise etc.  Best to not take any chances at all.  We have members on here who have liver damage and they may be better at giving you more precise info........sara
