how long for detox process

i have posted a post last night, then went to bed.  this morning, i looked and saw how many more posts have been posted so, now that i am on the  bottom of the list, i am typing a new post.  i'm sorry if i am wrong doing this, only looking for answers.

am 49, been clean once for 10 years, 2nd for 4 years, all from opiates/benzos.  i have a very bad right knee, suppose to be replaced, but then i will need a new one in 10 years and then they don't work, etc.

had to go to pain doctor in september of this year because pain is just so bad. live in a real small town and ortho is just, well, not experienced.  pain doctor prescribed ms contin 15 mg 2x's a day, lyrica 150 mgs, 2x's a day. the pain doctor told me if i were to get vicodyn, i would get addicted to them and since i will have long term pain, that ms contin is the way to go.  i work full time and am a single parent of a 12 year old. i want to not take them for a day or two or three and see how pain is, but am afraid withdrawals will kick in.  i'm just not in a place that i want to go through withdrawals again.

so am looking (and looked) for ms contin withdrawal and for the lowest dose i am on (15 mg) if i will get withdrawal symptoms or not or if i just have to do it and see.

any info will be greatly appreciated.

This doc has an interesting approach. You may not get addicted from such a small small dose of morphine but you may not get any pain releif either. Of course lyrcra is new and I don't know how effective it is. any pain releif? It's a tough situation to be an addict and need narcotics, no easy answers.

True...Sundays are kind of slow, but they pick up a little in the evening.  I'll give you a bump to take your post back close to the top.  I know someone will come along that can help you.  I really don't know about ms contin.....my DOC was Vicodin and Norco.

Good luck!

you most likely will have wd ... The first 1 to 5 days are the worst then it seems to get a bit better everyday. Here is the thing it going to take more then a few days to figure out where your pain level is for the first few months after you stop taking them your pain level may seem worse .I can tell you this my pain level is so much better now that I am not on anything .I had some bad days the first 90 days but since then its been better. You can do this there is tons of support here
