how much longer?

ive been taking hydrocodone for 4 yrs and in the last 6 months i got up to 15-20 hydro 10's a day! didnt like the dependency anymore so i decided to quit cold turkey, im on day 5 now and i still feel pretty weak and at night my legs ache and i toss n turn from the pain and insomnia, im highly allergic to vallum. xanax or any of that type,,, so my question is,,, has any body taken this high of dosage and for this amount of time? if so, how long did it take for u to actually feel 'normal' again? im tryin to drink lots of water to help flush it out, can somebody please help me? thanx!

for most hydro users it is a week or less..i was at 100 mgs a day for 4 yrs and went back to work day 5,,felt ok physicaally day 4..the thomas recipe in the health pages..exercise daily no matter how rotten i felt..be it a 20 minute wal/just gotta MOVE!  makes the brain produce endorphins u need so badly right now..and meetings daily during this crucial time

That is a big dose to CT from!  u must be a strong person...CONGRATS on ur acheivement...u r so very close...dont move backwards now..keep ur focus..remember why u quit even if u have to write it down daily..they were no FUN anymore or they were causing some type of turmoil in ur life to make u decide to quit...fear can be a factor when u dose gets this high..u think "how much will i be takin next year?

U have done the right thing..the smart thing...this addiction crud never goes away/and if u keep using it only gets worse..u can stop like u did or continue on a road to nowhere/losing everything u own or love/including urself ..if u dont stay on track

r u doing any aftercare?

I was on a lil more then that with the same amount of time. day 5 is great congrats. You should start to feel a lessening of the symptoms in the next couple of days.. Hot Baths/showers will help a lot with the restless leg also I know this sounds almost impossible but if you can get out and walk/exercise it will go a long way in helping to relive this and get the feel good endorphins producing again. also you may try heating pads on your legs it may help you to get a lil sleep. keep reading you can glean a lot of useful tips for wd..  To feel normal again, for me took a lil over a month but everyone is different. after the physical there is the emotional that needs to catch up.. we have numbed ourselves for a long time.. I wish you well.. lesa

your usage was almost exactly what mine was before I quit.  I used for about 3 years, and the last 8 months or so was between 15 and 20 10mg per day.

I will be completely honest with you.  I started feeling like I was over the hard part in about 4 or 5 days. Thinking back...my hardest days were probably day 3 and 4.  After day 5 or so....I could tell that things were getting easier...however, it was still hard.  I am 3 weeks into my recovery, and i can say that just in the past couple of days, I have started to feel normal agian.  I have finally started getting a full nights sleep without waking  up in a cold sweat, or having really strange dreams.  It has taken all of 3 weeks to feel completely normal again.  Im not saying that you will be like this for 3 weeks, I am just saying that's how long it took for me to say I am completely over the WD symptoms.

I noticed my energy coming back after the first week or so.  My advise would be to exercise as much as possible. It's gonna be hard, cuz you are tired and your body hurts....but you have to force yourself.  I think it really helps speed up the recovery.  Eat healthy and push the fluids hardcore!  Above all...hang in there....you wont feel like this forever...and I would say in the next day or so, you will slowly start to feel better and better every day!

Good luck to you!  And congrats on your success so far!
