hyrodcodone withdrawal

I've taken hydrocodone 7.5/325 for three years.  Have taken two at bedtime, along with Lunesta and sometime phenergan for nausea. I never take anything during the day. Have been tapering off for four days.  The worst time has been at night....really restless and cannot sleep.  I have been having lots of dreams....which I cannot remember the last time I remember ever dreaming...is this related to tapering off hydrocodone?  These four days have been difficult; however am wondering if the worse is yet to come?

I began dreaming once I was off the hydro.

Hi and Happy New Year....It's hard to say how long the detox process lasts-but I would guess that given your dosage and length of use that once you STOP taking the hydrocodone it will take 5-7 days for the worst symptoms.  Day 4-5 was the worst for me.  Every day it gets a little bit better.  As above Bananas are great.  They really help with RLS (potassium) also HYDRATE.  Push as much fluid as possible.  Hylands Leg cramps (homeopathic with quinine) really helped my RLS as did rubbing Tiger Balm (Asian) into my calf muscles at night.  Are you exercising?  Just walking around the block as quickly as you can really helps...I know it's hard but it does work.  As for the dreaming-or lack thereof-yes that was caused by the opiate.  It messes with your brain in all kinds of ways.  I have been clean for 27 days and am loving the return of my dreaming (when I actually manage to sleep)  There is so much to look forward to....Have you thought about aftercare?  For most-the mental part is hardest and support is needed to stay clean.  Hang in there.....Lu

I was on a 4-5 Norco 7.5/325 per day.  I'm on day 9.  Each day is a little better, I take Ambien for sleep which has helped, are you having restless legs?  If so, potassium (bananas) help with that. Warm Epsom salt baths too.  I've heard here that Day 3-5 can be the worst part.  Just take it one day at a time and keep posting and reading here, it's what has brought me through, along with prayer and aftercare.  We can do this!
