i need advice please

hi there could anyone give me advice on tramadol and fentanyl addiction. i am currently on 75mcg/hr fentanyl patch which i change every 24 hours and i also take 8 50mg tramadol daily. i take the pain meds due to my knees which im waitng to have replaced but ive been waiting now for 18 months and am so so scared of coming off the drugs as im frightened that i will go into w/d. ive experianced light w/d as ive forgot to change my patch for 36 hours a few times and i felt all cold but kept sweating and it was really not nice. could anyone please give me any info on what i should do now, should i go cold turkey or go to my doctor and get other drugs to help me. i live in london, england and there dont seem to be to many people with the same problem here (but i bet they do exist) lol. thank you all for your time and i hope yous are all doing good. keep strong. carrie.

I don't know much about the tramdol but I had to detox off of the patches and it was not fun at all.  Fentanyl is 80 times stronger than morphine and one of the hardest drugs to get off of.  I was on 100mcg patches for about a year.  I ended up cutting the 100's in half for awhile (you can do this if they are not the gell filled ones, but the mylan patches that are flat can be cut).  But it seemed to me that I was just prolonging my w/d's.  So I finally just quit ct.  I was very sick with the super flu for about 10 days.  The insomnia and the leg problems were the pits, but it goes away.  After the 10 days I went through bouts of depression, horrible headaches, and anxiety.  After about 20 days took some vicodin just for a break.  The good news is that after a few days of vic's I didn't have to go through the w/d's again.  If you want any information please just send me a msg.

Don't just cold turkey of that amount of Tramadol,I don't think it's even possible to actually,it's going to be very uncomfortable, and i hear it can be dangerous, because you may have seizures,a slow taper is the way forward i think, seek you're doctors advice first.

I wish you luck
(don't know about the patches?)
