kratom any thought for pain relief

so I found this natural herb called kratom it is supposed to help with pain, anxiety, depression.  I have been off my pain meds for 6 days and I am feeling pretty good but yesterday and today my back has been hurting.  I am not going to go back to the narcotic pain meds so I was looking for a herbal remedy and came across this.   I just wanted your alls thoughts or experiences on this.   From the sounds of it, it seems like it would be a tremendous help even with the anxiety and withdrawal symptoms.

thanks for the suggestions ... Im not looking for a high not even close ... my withdrawals are at a minimum  for the most part I think im doing ok with it yes I admit that I feel mentally that just to take one to feel numb would be nice but I don't want to go through the misery of the last few days ... I am only looking to get rid of a real pain not phantom I feel that there is a knot in my back and it runs down my right leg ... I put my pain in perspective and I know that im not dying its just uncomfortable and I can deal with it I did take a teaspoon of the kratom yesterday and it relaxed my back and I felt peaceful not high, buzzed or anything just relaxed ... today I don't feel the need for it ... so I won't take any I don't want to get addicted to anything else and from what I read if you are careful and don't take it daily its not dangerous or additive ... I do thank you all for the warning and will be extremely careful I will at this point let my husband hold them for me so they are not readily available .. but at this point I don't have an urge to take them they relaxed my back took away that edgy feeling and for now im done with them ... maybe I am dancing close to the edge but I will for sure watch what I take and make sure it doesn't become a daily habit

Listen to pj this stuff sux. If you were addicted to opiates you will get addicted to it. If you could not wean on opiates you probably won't be able to wean on this either.. When I took it the "relief" only lasted for about an hour and I found myself having to double the dose every time I took it. It also cause me some weird abdominal pain which I am sure was an organ . Try to just ride it out. You don't need this junk. Great job on the 6 days. It will get better if you just hang in there friend  ;)

If you're on day 6 there's no reason to wean at this point. The worst should be over or nearly over.
If you take it there's a chance you'll like it. Then you're right back to square one.

Kratom's helped me with withdrawals in the past...but yeah it still works on the opiate receptors so youd have to go easy on it..but it might help to wean off for sure

6 days off your pain meds.....if you're like the rest of us....the rebound pain is hitting you HARD.  It's what happens when the receptors are stripped of the opiates.....please try to hang on and wait to re-evaluate your pain a little further down the opiate clean road.  It truly DOES get worse before it gets better.

Kratom's NOT a good idea as PJ shared.  And all the natural remedies suggested  above are what I'm gonna be trying for my chronic pain.

Hang in there.....the pain WILL get better....

Also want to add. I quit when the kratom backfired on me. It suddenly caused me to experience extreme anxiety and depression. Very very strange. It was a very dark time in my life. Google kratom wds. I'm not the only one with a negative experience.

Welcome!  Congrats on six days.

Well it sounds familiar. I was about six days off hydros when I found kratom. That was January 20!2. I got hooked on kratom for 16 months. Quit back in may this year. Please understand kratom works because it acts on some of the same receptors as opioids. It is addictive. You will have wds from it. I'd say the wds are worse than opiate. As far as the mmental part. It causes some very strange dissociation during wds. Not a cool place.
Send me a msg for any questions. I highly recommend to stay away!!  Please.
Take care.

Try message, acupuncture, chiropractics, deep tissue message, yoga, anything, but you gotta stop looking for a plant or pill to do the work for you.  I found certain exercises and stretches, combined with chiro and cool thing I do with tennis balls to work pretty well. What kind of pain are you dealing with?

Be careful with this! It is addictive, and the wds from it are similar to opiate wds. There are a couple of people on here who have experience with kratom. Hopefully they will be along to tell you all about it. There are numerous other natural things you can try for pain. Astaxanthin is one natural anti inflammatory that helps pain and is great for overall health. The more time that you put between you and the opiates, the better your pain will get. Please really do some research before you try the kratom. Take care of yourself!
