liver/kidney damage

From the posts I read it seems that many were taking above the max dose 4000 mg of acetaminfen daily. Irreversable liver/kidney damage has always been a big concern to me which is why I never exceed the 4000 mg a day. I just had blood drawn yesterday & will nervously await  the results. If they tell me my enzymes are higher it will be easier to quit. I think. Have any of you had any damage to liver/kidney damage as a result of your vicodin use?

I have heard the liver repairs as well. Best of luck to you. I'm an hour over due for my usual 2 vics every 6 hours. It's been 7 hours. Just came home for lunch. Lets see how long i last.

I abused lortab 10/500 and xanax for almost 5 years.  I finally stopped 5 months ago.  I had lab work drawn in August of 08 right after I quit, and my doctor told me that I do have damage done to my liver.  He is going to recheck my labs in July and see if my liver has repaired itself.  He said sometimes depending on the damage done that the liver can repair and some damage is permanent.  So like you I am anxious to see what happens in a few months.  It's very scary and I wish so many times I had paid attention to the side effects and not abused those pills like I did, but addiction is a disease, what can you do but try to stop ?

This is so scary, I was just reading my paper work this morning on the pills, and it said that if you exceed the maximum dose that it could cause severe, even fatal liver damage. That really freaked me out. I think for all of us on here who have not had any liver damage, well we are very blessed, and need to thanking God! For most of us on here, we are really lucky to be alive, so we need to count our blessings!

This has always been a concern for me..I have exceeded the 4000..many times...I have had liver test that came out ok...but for some reason I really don't feel like it is ok..I have talked to a doctor about this and he said that someone can still have damage, and test again and it will show...IDK..As far as kidneys., I have never had a kidney infection until i started and even stopped using pills....I plan on getting my liver checked again soon....I pray your results come out good....Let us know..god bless
