I need a miracle...

Hey everyone! First time posting, however, I've visited this forum for the last few days. I am at the beginning stage of withdrawals. I just need a friend, mentor or angel to help me out during these hard days. Here's my story- almost 9 years ago, I was in a terrible car accident (I was only 19) broke my entire back. Stayed/recovered at my hospital for 2 months. I had to learn how to walk all over again, wear a hard back brace for 2 years, etc. it sucked!! My orthopedic surgeon put me on Vicodin, which I was using for a few years. Than, I was switched to Norco (10-325). I've been using Norco for the last few years. I'm not going to lie, I've been abusing them the last few years... I usually take 6-10 a day, easily... Well, I'm done! I hate them!! I want to be free. They've ruined my freaking life. I want my life back. Please help me anyone...

Dude!!!!!!! You gave me some of the best advice. Thank you! yea, I'm following the Thomas recipe. I have everything except the Valium. I don't have the money, time nor the insurance to see a therapist to get Valium. It's ok, it is what it is. I have the multi vitamin, the b12. Have Imodium, however, haven't need to use that... Yet! Lol my husband bought me like, 18 power are! No joke! They were on sale. And I bought bananas and activia. So, I think I'm good? Oh yea, I also bought L-tyrsone ( I think I spelt that wrong?) it was on the Thomas recipe. I'm gonna start to use it on the 4th or 5th dAy? What exactly is that? Anyways, thanks for helping me out. Means a bunch!!

Hi bubbleguppie! I can give you some tips on what I did to get through the worst of the withdrawals. I started by staying in bed for the first 2 days, with light housework to get me moving. I took 5-6 hot baths showers a day with Epsom salt. I had no appetite either, so I had people bring me smoothies with whey protein. I drank powerade, because it is loaded with b vitamins and potassium. Bananas for leg cramps and sleeve or Advil for pain. Heating pads are my best friend. Imodium works great for stomach issues. Did slowing begin exercise, started with short walks down my street. Also added, a multivitamin, and magnesium, and b12 sublingual. I also asked people here for support! You can do this. I have chronic pain and trying to figure out some holistic ways to manage. Going to try acupuncture next! Good luck sweetie!

My story is not important, but please know that many times over the last 40 years I have been where you are. I must still live with the wreckage I've created in my life, but I no longer have to worry about scoring pills just to feel normal and keep the game alive. Tomorrow when I wake up, my first thought will not be about my drug inventory. I want the same peace of mind for you. Each night as I go to sleep, I thank God for freeing me and I pray for my brothers and sisters who are still in the hell of being addicted. Tonight I pray for you Bubbleguppie. You can do this with God's grace.  Freedom is around the corner! Pray with me.

Hey bubble!  Congrats on the decision to take back your life!  You are in the perfect place for support.  Everyone here I've encountered are great and supportive.  No one judges as we've all been there.  Post away here, it's very therapeutic in the recovery process and keeps your mind busy.  If you need someone to vent to or ramble on with I'm around quite often to do so.  There are also lots of other people who are caring here that will support you.  You've made an awesome first step!

Lol, thanks for the love for my nickname. My 18 month old son loves bubble guppies. It's his favorite show. My husband helped me sign onto this site. He laughed when I said my nickname shall be bubbleguppie. Haha I'm going to the movies right now. I need to get out of my apartment. My withdrawals are starting to kick in. I'm freaking out and can't stop crying. I need to do this. I have to do this. I don't want to take another damn pill for the rest of my life.

You may want to try gatorade instead of just water. You need the electrolytes.
Keep it up ;))

Aww thank you so, very much for replying back and sharing your words of wisdom with me. I definitely appreciate it! Yea, I had ice cream earlier today. However, I don't have an appetite at all. I'm forcing myself to drink water though. And the hour by hour is exactly what I'm doing. That's so funny how u mentioned that. That's what I told my husband! Lol

Hey there bubbleguppie !    Welcome to the forum ! ;)    There aren't many on here on Saturday night but there will be some who come on later.  Congratulations on getting your life back .You have been reading the forums so you probably know how important it is to stay hydrated . You can do this for sure and  you can get your life back. just hang in there and take it hour by hour for now. Hope you have comfortable surroundings and some easy to prepare foods to eat. Eating anything right now will help, even stuff like pizza or cheeseburgers will make you feel better. Eat as soon as you are able. Try to watch some of your favorite types of movies. That will take your mind off of withdrawal for a couple of hours at a time. As soon as you can try to take some short walks around the block or whatever. The walks will help but I know it will be hard and you won't want to. Just hang in there and best of luck to you !  You can do this !
