Thanks I will look into it.The panic attacks are the worst if I even think I'm going to have one I pop an Ativan. They are the worst at night, when I close my eyes to go to sleep the rapid thoughts start and it turns into a full blown panic attack, that's why I don't sleep,I'm so scared to go to sleep that I only sleep when I'm so exhausted I just doze off and don't have time to think.
There are some very good antidepressants that help w/panic and anxiety disorder. My daughter (who is young -13-) had to start taking zoloft because her anxiety got so bad. She was losing sleep, losing weight and doing really poor in school because of it. She has really benefited from the zoloft. It is a low dose, but in the last year she's only had 2 anxiety problems. They weren't severe enough to produce panic, but enough where she felt very nervous. She would often worry about death, me dying, school issues, boyfriends, siblings, car accidents, etc. They don't always work for everyone, but its worth a shot. If it works well, you could get rid of some of the other stuff you're taking too? Just my info, hope it helps
Thanks for all your feedback.I would like to get off some of these meds, but The Benzos are for panic attacks and those scare the **** out of me,I also rarely sleep, and my back pain has been slowly getting worse.I have degeneritive discs in 50% of my back, without the pain meds it's almost impossible to keep up with my 3 children something I take very seriously growing up without a father myself and an alcoholic mom.The pain meds are not too bad by themselves, but once I take an ativan it's a little scary.I also have a serious fear of impending doom (Afraid of dying)so sometimes that comes into play where I think I'm ODing.I'm working on that in therapy, but it's not happening as of now.
btw - i know there are certain serious psychiatric conditions that do, indeed, require a cocktail of meds.
so i just wanted to add that, in case that is your situation (ie bi-polar, schitzophrenia, etc.)
either way though, it is good to have another opinion if you haven't one...
that's alot of stuff..
can you consider getting off some or all of it?
there's no doctor on this planet who can tell you exactly what that combination can do to you. its simply to many pills.
i don't mean to scare you.. actually, maybe i do a little because it does sound a little scary. and i think it would be really wise to get a second opinion on all the meds you're taking.
good luck, sweety.. keep posting.
mj
has anyone tryed to get to the root of some of your problems. that sounds like a drug store you are taking. hah.
that can't be good
joanne is right...pharmacist know alot more about medications than most doctors as a rule....if u have multiple doctors prescribing for u it can get a bit out of hand...u r on 2 narcotics and 2 benzos...all are habitforming...the zocor would probably not interact...the BP med may add to fatigue and side effects of meds...be sure and let ur doctors know all of ur meds and discuss it with ur pharmacist....maybe talk to ur doctor as i would see how fatigue may be a problem with that medication regime
I wasn't on those particular meds...but I was once placed on way too many and I gained alot of weight and frankly I felt CRAZY... when I quit taking them I suddenly wasn't "crazy" anymore. I do take zoloft & clonazepam now...but before it was a huge list. You can find a website that will tell you if they interact and if you are filling at the same pharmacy they should be albe to tell you if they have interactions!
