methadone detox
is anyone on line who has went through methadone detox on their own?
man i feel ****! day 10 or 11 and i drank to much and now i feel very very sick, no need to feel sorry for me, drinking was a very very stupid thing to do. NOTE TO SELF. Comming down of methadone means dont drink alcohol!!!!
weaponized acid: a form of LSD the creates hallucinations that are disturbing and mind bending, basically i thought i was dreaming really weird stuff, but in fact i was WIDE awake so i was hallucinating to some degree, that was on about day 3 or 4 ( the worst days),
yea, it's hard but it works, funny thing docnomore is that once your in that wrything state you cant even leave the house, so your kinda forced from that point to detox? did you find that, also i thought i was dreaming lol except i was wide awake, it was like some sort of weaponized acid lol
Keep up the good work. There's only one way to get off the done and that's the way you are doing it. All this slow tapering stuff only draws out the misery. I detoxed 5mg. per day from 110 mg. and then just pushed through it. The worst thing is to take opiates but benzos can help.

when your in that stage that you cant lie still yet you have no energy to stand up ( the worst part ) do your self a HUGE favour pour a very hot bath and jump in it, its instant relief
hey crazy im on my 7th day and by f*ck i BEAT !! it was f*ckn TORTURE, i really really really feel for you, i used pot, valium oxazepam. by the 4th day NOTHING worked it was agony i really do not know how i made it but i did,you could probably try strait whisky that may really help!! again im tears thinking about what your going through

the doctor gave me librum after being on xanax 2 years. librium *****. Mabey she'll give me some oxazapam it sounds like it works better all i know is this is HELL!!!!

you should really try to get some clonidine to help get you through. I came off forty like you one time and it was two weeks of hell. I lay in bed barely able to move feeling like my heart was going to jump out of my chest. And that's not including the months afterwards, which while better...it just didn't seem like it would end.
I'm not saying you can't do it but without something those first two weeks are hard.

hi..I also had to experience the he!! which is methadone..I will be off that 2 yrs this aug 1..i went cold turkey at 65mg..how many mg were you when you stopped..I am here as well if you need to talk or support..you can pm me anytime..I understand all too well about having some one pull your limbs off..that was well put and true..have you posted on the substance abuse side? there a a few people detoxing right now at various stages and some that have been off for 60-90..I'd be happy to try and help anyway i could..
just feeling like pulling myself apart, infact i think i would feel better if i had ropes atteched to all my body parts and some seperate cars, and they all drove off in different directions pulling me to pieces. this is f***ing torture. im at like day three no done.

That "dead weight" feeling takes forever to go away. The last time I did it I was four months in and still suffering from it. Are you trying any of the other things recommended around here? I wasn't aware of them back then, so I was just suffering through.
im like 51 hours in with no methadone ( dropped called from 40mg) and i have had a couple of cerapax and some phenergan and although i feel like im carrying lead weight, i feel pretty damn good.
starting to sweat a little too, still this is heaven compared to not using benzo's, usually i would just be dragging myself to the chemist ( clinic) to get my done, but with cerapax i just want to go to bed, yay for that, even though i feel weighted i feel more alive, i can actually FEEL something.
well im oficially into 48 hours detox and you know what, i feel pretty good all things considered , i do however feel like i have a 100 kg weigh attached to me, i can hardly move, but the oxeazepam had taken away all the leg shaking, i highly recommend using
valium cerapax or some benzodiazepine and a bed. The benzos take away all the muscle cramps and anxiety, however you just want to lie down. All in all i feel pretty good. PS twoeye are you in australia? im in melbourne.

i was in a rapid detox clinic on the weekend and the docs told me methadone was the worst opiate to come off they literally told me the week before to stop and start using herion because the rapid detox would be easier, im not sure if your in the position for rapid detox (finacially in aust you can pay it off over 10 years :) ) then they stuff you full of naltrexone to block your receptors of any opiates for 6 months, fingers crossed here for you and me cant wait to get my life back
I think crazyblone has walked, so it will probably just be me your talking to ( you can read above, what my plan is ), i will start my real detox today, i have no methadone left and will start on the oxazepam today, i would really appreciate talking to you through this, im a little scared at this point. Im not going back to taking any opiate ( apart from codeine ).

I was going to a clinic and decided to get off methadone. They of course did not want me too, in my opinion they wanted me to stick around for their 13.00 a day. Any way, I went from 45 mg down to 2mg and it took a long time to get them to do it for me. I think they would only take me down 5mg a week.
Once I got down to 5mg, I went down 1mg a day. Once I got to 2mg, I jsut quit going all together.
It was absolutely one of the most horrific detoxes ever. I felt pain in my knees, my lower back and felt like I had the flu for a week.
I did not sleep right for more than a month.
But, it did not last forever. I did not follow through and go to mtgs, or reach out and ask for help, so eventually I relapsed on Hydro and now am on suboxone. But this does nothave to be your story. You can do this. I had to quit my job to detox though. My regular dr. (not knowing much abour addiction or detox) only wrote me off of work for one week. He said I'd be fine in a week. (I'd only taken Meth for 5 months).
I WAS NOT FINE IN A WEEK!! So, if you can afford to, and if you have others to support you, try to plan your detox. If you've got kids, see if someone can keep them a couple of days. I needed a couple of days in bed.
After about 10 days, I could take walks, start cleaning up the house and some small things. I had to make sure I didn't get overwhelmed with stuff though, sometimes only doing a half a load of laundry just to make it seem that it wasn't all that much.
You can do this blondy!! It can be done. Just get the support that you need. Ask for help and try to get to meetings. You do not want to do this twice!

well i went to another doctor (not my methadone doctor) and he gave me a prescription
of oxazepam 30mg, now im going to buy some phenergan and polaramine to help sleep im going to stock up on vitamins and asprin as well, I will let you know how i an going with cold turkey (cold turkey as in no opiates ). I took my last Methadone today, withdrawals usually kick in ( begin ) at about 24 hours, so ill post back tomorrow.
