I really need to talk to someone who knows about Methadone detox.  I havent done Methadone before (!st time), but I was there for approx 9 months...heard thats very short compared to others.  So I don't know much.  I didn't know what I was getting into cuz I thought they were supposed to help, but I found out all the bad things about it and now I'm working on stopping.  It's been a month exactly.  I want to know what should I expect (basic symptoms) and when will it subside?  At a month, is the worst over?  HELP!!!

I have some things to say about methadone but it looks like u have made a very good decision.I am now tapering off 2 years in the program.I knew after 6 months all they cared about was the money.When I was on pills I never pawned or sold anything,I always had scripts.We have went into debt over Metthadone.Every piece of jewelry I own is at the pawnshop.I even lost my Grandfathers ring,because an employee stole it.Enough about me.You are doing great at a month.Keep on going.There are a lot of ppl on here that will help you at a month and longer.I just wanted to say hello and tell u good job.Keep it up u are out....

Hello lexx and welcome. Congrats on your decision to stop. Yes the longer you stay on it the harder and longer the detox is.
What dose were you on? Did you stay at the same dose the whole time?
What dose are you on now? Are you tapering? Or did you stop?

Exercise, drink protein shakes. Take magnesium/ zinc supplements,
Lots of protein, fruit and veggies.
Drink lots of water.
Are you going to support groups, counseling, church to prevent relapse?
