naltraxone vs subutex

So ive been going on and off trying to kick the pain pills out of my life for good. My tolerance makes me very upset that I would be in this mess. I dont know what happened, Ive had back pain since 18 blah blah everybody has a story.  Anyways...

Ive been off the pain pills for two days. Have the chills which is the worst.  I dont even care about throwing up and all that other good stuff. The chills I cant handle and cramps in my legs. Ive seen a few posts on here and I dont want to get that script for high blood pressure.  Thats my first question.  My second is I got a pill form of suboxin took half feel better. I can sit up and talk and clean my house a little. I have a script for naltraxone.  My dr told me to wait a whole week to take it after im off the pain pills. Since I just took a subutex will the naltraxone do the same as the subutex? Or will my withdrawls get worse? Any advice on anything!!! I need energy and I just dont have it.

Oh yeah anyone that needs help for the next sixth months afterwards the naltraxone is the best. Its made to help with weight loss and all sorts of other things. I didnt even crave a pain pill. No deppression or anything and im a hot head big time. I made the worst mistake by thinking well im on vacation and I wanna have a good time and relax and not feel pain for this week. I screwed up bad.

I do know the rollercoaster of taking one more and starting all over, believe me.  One thing that really helped with my creepy crawlies and chills was living in a hot bath, I'd have at least three per day and they do wonders I can say that for sure! ..  Yeah, I think the question about Naltroxone was answered previously.  That's interesting that it helps with the craving and even helps with weight loss.

I actually sat on the heat register the first 3-4 days with my sweater over my knees. That was back in the winter though. If the sun is shining where you are (it is beautiful here in Canada today) then put track pants and a sweater on and go sit in the sun. Get warm strip a layer and vise versa. I also took VERY hot baths, only times I felt normal. Basically you just have to ride them out. Keep a blanket or a throw on hand to cover up when chills come, toss off when sweats come.

And one more thing ive been taking real prenatal vitamins and I can see the difference in how I feel and how I look. I know its good for skin nails etc but for some reason helps through my withdrawals for any of you looking for a vitamin.

Yes I do not want to take suboxin or subutex.  Its awful and it is addicting. I know the naltraxone is a blocker. Thats why I was wondering if it was safe. I have googled and its not giving me the right answers im looking for. But I guess that pretty much answered my question that it will not help with withdrawal.  It will just stop the wanting. I took it before for almost a year and dropped fifty poundsand I was very happy. No paws or wwhatever that means. Its so hard to get through one week because the chills are so bad I tell myawlf well ill just take one and its starts all over again. Ok so no to the naltraxone till I feel better.
anyone know how to get rid of these chills????

Just get through the week and don't take anything...  Man, so many people think sub's are fine and even go so far as to tell themselves they are 'clean' when on them...

People are more hooked than they were before if they start on the subs/methadone.  The withdrawal is so much longer it's just not funny.  Aside from the actual acute stage lasting at least twice as long (usually a month or two), there is the year or so previous to this where you will still be in withdrawal because you are having your dose slowly weaned down in order to make the final jump...  TLDR : Just get off now and do not trade a pistol for a shotgun

Some info about Naltrexone - an opiate antagonist
for mayoclinic.org

"Naltrexone is not a narcotic. It works by blocking the effects of narcotics, especially the "high'' feeling that makes you want to use them. It also may block the "high'' feeling that may make you want to use alcohol. It will not produce any narcotic-like effects or cause mental or physical dependence. It will not prevent you from becoming impaired while drinking alcohol.

Naltrexone will cause withdrawal symptoms in people who are physically dependent on narcotics. Naltrexone treatment is started after you are no longer dependent on narcotics. The length of time this takes may depend on which narcotic you took, the amount you took, and how long you took it. Before you start taking this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor if you think you are still having withdrawal symptoms."

Suboxone and Naltrexone are opposites:  Sub is an opiate agonist, Naltrexone is an opiate antagonist.  I would suggest goggling both of these substances and I would recomment NOT taking the naltrexone until you understand how it works and what it does.

Hi There and Welcome-  You might want to research these meds for an answer but simply put, Subutex is an opiate and naltrexone is an opioid antagonist which reverses the action of an opiate. If you take it after ingesting an opiate you will go into withdrawal immediately. That's why the doctor told you to wait a week before taking it.

You could try to increase you're energy level by eating protein, taking B vitamins and other supplements, and getting some exercise...even though it's really hard to get going.   It takes time for energy to return after stopping pills so be patient with the process.  Good luck to you-
