after 12 years I would say nada if u use only for a few days...4 months after I quit I had a procdure done on my back and used for 4 days witout any wd after..i flushed the rest after 4 days...i was fine...i do know u will become addicted very qquickly after u have quit but 12 years is a long time..the receptors u built in ur brain r still there tho..just asleep right now/in remission as they r no longer needed...if u use as prescribed and for a few days and do not flood the brain with endorphins, then those receptor should stay in remission...those recptors we build during abuse never go away unfortunately..when the body senses the extra receptors r no longer needed they will go into remission but will wake up quickly when we use again..that is why tolerence goes right back to where u were during active addiction very quickly....people who take high doses at one time will have a much harder time with detox than thos who used small amts thru out the day as they did not flood the brain like those who took heavy doses at one time

there is a gereat article on dopamine in the health pages to help u understand..be safe with the meds and it may be a good idea to have someone hold them if u feel that u need to...I know it is scary but u can do this and succeed..if it were me i would only take them if ice, heat, anti-inflamatories or muscle relaxers.hence the safer drugs did not work for pain control..after 12 yrs of being clean u can handle this obstacle..keep posting

Have you taken the lortab yet? Like the others said I doubt you would go through full w/d's again if taken for only 2 days, but the problem is this can start the whole mental process over. Nobody deserves to suffer with pain, but please be careful. If your only taking them for a day or 2 could you not try something else for pain? What type of accident did you have?

I don't have much experience with pills but I can tell you that everyone is different as to how they react to what. In my experience with my doc it only took 3 days of using to start going thru wds again. Again, I don't know if it's the same but I would imagine you wouldn't be going thru full blown withdrawals just possibly being uncomfortable? I agree with Ella that the mental part will be the tougher part. Hang in there!

HI and welcome to the forum.  You have really not been clean for very long, it is tough to say but, you need it for pain for a couple or 3 days.  So just make sure that 3 days is all you use it.  You really may have to deal with some major mental craves after that tho, like you aren't already huh?  I think you shouldn't have full blown w/d with all the bad stuff that comes with it.  I just haven't read of anyone who had to use their DOC so soon after quitting.  Perhaps others will come on and post who are more experienced with your situation.
