off the dope?

hey everybody, im new to this forum, looking for some answers for getting off heroin, was on it for about 10 years, now on methadone, and its keeping me off the dope but is ti really any better? am i really staying "clean" some tell me im not clean at all being on meth. any input?

I"m also an ex h addict, technically you are off the heroin, I have know idea about methadone withdraw but some-one will come on that dose, I do know about h withdraw it took 4 times for me to get off, its a bit&h, the mental part is what needs to be addressed, are you still around your connections, friends that use? I moved to a new town and started all over so to speak, you really have to put distance between you and your doc.I wish you well getting off the metadone I"m pulling for you Limbo

Welcome to the forum. Are you under a doctors care with the Methadone? How long have you been on it?
I'm on Suboxone, and I'm clean from my drug of choice, but I guess I wouldn't say that I'm totally clean yet, since it is still an opiate, as is Methadone.
Mehtadone is a hard drug to come off of, so be careful. Perhaps its time to start tappering off it. What is your doctor suggesting?

Hi ,glad your here..How long have you been on methadone? I used to be on it..as for are you clean...I 'm not sure how to answer that..I would say no.Is it hindering your life ? Are you trying to get off it?
