opiate withdrawls

It has been about 2 weeks since I took my last suboxone pill.  For those of you who don't know what suboxone is, It is similar to methodone.  My doctor put me on suboxone when I decided to stop abusing Vicodin.  Well, the worst thing I am going through is the restless leg syndrome and the extreme leg exhaustin.  I can hardly function.  How long do these symptoms usually last?  Anybody who can guide me with these answers would be greatly appreciated.

Hi houseofleaves, that's an old post from 2008, go" back into community" and comment all you want, we are here to help!! I'm on day 4, so I know what you're going thru!! For restless legs the ONLY thing that worked fir me was taking an EXTREMELY HOT bath then putting icy hot gel onto the sire areas (quads n calves for me) then getting a tensor bandage n tying it up super tight. Repeat as much as neccessary!! Good luck, msg me if you want!!

I was also put on suboxone but from oxycodone use instead, suboxone is no better or worse that oxycodone or heroin or morphine, the withdrawals are just as bad, I went 5 days without and suboxone after taking one 8mg a day and those 5 days were hell and I'm still sick, I've tried vitamins, orange juice, hot showers ,Tylenol, ibuprofien ,exercise, sleeping pills, sitting in a corner rocking back and forth, anything and everything I can think of and what others have suggested in other forums, nothing helps at all, just non stop pain and suffering building and building. The only progress I've made is my tolerance to suboxone is down as I only now need a quarter of an 8mg instead of a whole. I've decided to try the wheening method since I'm already down to a quarter. Good luck, let me know if you have any  suggestions to ease withdrawals.

My doctor said up to a year but I've heard anything from a couple weeks to forever. You can get something to help with RLS from your doctor so you don't have to suffer.
