otc help

can anyone offer any advice on otc drugs that will help me get through this period.

im working towards day three of kicking an opiate addiction.  Ive been abusing hydrocodone for a few years now, kicked with ALOT of tramadol week before last for nearly five days, ran out of tramadol on the fifth day and went and got hydrocodone.  This time, I only had a few tramadol to work with, so I took four yesterday and four today.  I dont have anything but willpower to get me through tomorrow

any advice to help me get through day three?  would wellbutrin help?  (btw I cant afford a dr's visit for any prescriptions to get suboxone or anyone of that stuff, but I do have a script for wellbutrin)

p.s.  I did try to read through the forums for some answers but found so many opinions it scrambled my tired depressed brain, so any help is greatly appreciated.

not much helps. they say hylanda restful legs helps with RLS, but i think it only worked the first time for me. i like using Theraflu (the hot liquid kind u drink like tea) i think that helps alot with the chillls and aches. and i eat alot of rolaids!!! i hate the sour stomach. i hope this helps u some. about the only thing that will really help u get through this is a doctor visit though. nothing OTC will really help. and that wellbutrin KINDA helps i guess. i take it to for depression and it takes the wd's off my mind for about an hour and thats it. good luck. im only on day 1/2 and am gunna start suboxone tomorrow morning. find yourself a good Doctor

Hi and Welcome,

You can check the Health Pages at the top right of this page. There is some great material there as well as excellent suggestions on supplements you can take to ease the withdrawals a bit and get your health back.

Bananas and a magnesium/potassium supplement for RLS. I use benadryl for sleep. I find these seem to be the two most bothersome physical symptoms. Take a good multi-vitamin. Exercise, eat well.

Also, get yourself into some recovery care. This will help prevent relapse. You can't do this alone. A counselor, some meetings. And we are here for you too.

Best of luck to you and God Bless.
