Your doing great so keep hanging in there!!! sara
I hate that you had that experience with the doctor! Unfortunately, there are some nuts in the world. Sub takes a little longer to feel better than detox from regular opiates because of it's half life. If you just hang in there, get some exercise and rest, and give the effexor some time to work, I bet you will be feeling better in no time!!! : )) Good luck!
Thanx. Will keep it in mind. I have read some where not to take effexor w/ melatonin? I have that!
Have you tried any self-help remedies yet?
Valerian root can safely be taken along with effexor, and should help with anxiety as well as sleep issues.
Take care
Today is day 7 no suboxone. It is not near as extreme as full on opiate wd but no picnic either....I did start the effexor, which i was given by my primary doc (who doesn't know about my addiction or sub) my sub doc suggested waiting until i detoxed and seeing if i needed an ssri or snri like effexor. He the sub doc was shady cursed during my visit w/him told me i'd wasted my DOC bc I didn't shoot them up like he did before getting caught....I have been on sub twice.Seeing a total of 3 docs he was the bad egg but i found them all to be not well informed Re the drug realistic tapering ect.
I am having a pretty rough time. I feel like i have a stomach ulcer....still can't eat, sleep well, still have aches ANXIETY and runs.....know i need aftercare or this will all be in vain.I will address that in the days to come when I can actually function.
How much longer will I feel this way?????????????
Make sure you understand what you're getting into. Sub withdrawals can last a long time. I tapered and quit, but made sure the timing was right for myself and my family. I stuck to suboxone for over two years, and didn't quit until feeling very confident that I could stay clean. Member's here have had better information to help taper and quit sub then the doctors I met. I wish I would have had more info before I quit. Their help could save you days to weeks of discomfort.
Coming off Sub can be rough, I know because I did it, but I agree that you need to discuss this with your Dr.
IF your doctor told you to take it, and you have a script for it, then I would say yes. Why are you wondering? I mean, are you afraid of it for any reason? Is this from the doc who gave you the sub?
We will help all we can here, but you do need to be sure the doc knows what's going on, and you need to be ok with it!!! : )
That is something to ask a doctor I really dont know ..... we will be here to try to give you all the moral support we can ..:)
