I know that some people will disagree with me on this but...I found tapering to be way more uncomfortable than cold turkey. if you taper very very slowly, yes, but if you're taking enough to not feel sick - then you're not tapering very much at all and you won't have a good idea of what to expect. I tapered over a week or so and I was miserable..when I finally jumped off it wasn't so bad and only lasted a few days as opposed to the longer taper.
It doesn't work for everyone, but I really thought cold turkey was less painful.
No my Dr. does not and he thinks we should cross this bridge when I come to it and I say I'm at the bridge. I feel I know my body at this age (54) better than anyone else and I can tell when something is wrong as compared to really wrong. If I feel I need to go to the hospital or take a pill to feel better then I will. I'm trying to test this out to see how addicted I am and how much pain I will be in without the pills.
thanks for your help sara

So you will be tapering down then.....Does your doctor know about this? We just want you to be safe. I am heading to work so will check back later this afternoon. sara
That's a good question. As little as I can to keep me from getting really sick. I'm better prepared this time with imodium and stuff like that. Last time I had very bad stomach trouble and could not eat and then went into blood sugar issues.
