hi guys day 4 of my withdrawl from the demon drug.  Unbelievable turnaround today.  I hit the curve in the road, energy definately coming back starting to smile a little.  This is so worth it to be able to wake up in the morning and not have to feel like crap and worry about counting, finding your next pills.  Defintely been long time since i'm starting to feel like my true self again.  I'm curious to see how well i can sleep tonight, symptoms always are worse with me at night.  Anyways, anyone who is going thru what I am going thru just know it is so worth it, hang in there , you deserve it, to be clean. Bless you all Rob.

Your doing great!!!! For me day 3 was always the worst, after that things got better day by day. I cant tell you how many times ive done this but I wish I was still clueless about pain killers. This is my second day as well hang in there it does get better!! Try to stay awake and moving as much as you can bear its hard but it does help you sleep a little better drink alot of water because when you get dehydrated it makes the muscles cramp and hurt worse. Your doing great let me kno if I can help in any way.

Monochrome,
Yes, Tramadol is an opiate and would prolong your withdrawals. It also has other effects similar to anit-depressants, so, get hooked on that stuff and you will end up with classic opiate and anti-depressant withdrawal symptoms. I'd highly recommend flushing them while your mind is strong. I'd really hate to see you take some of those in a week moment. I'm sure you know, one leads to two and so on. Please flush them.

Oxy480Jim,
Do you have any clue what you're talking about? Hot baths, while not long lasting, offer quite possibly the absolute best relief for most withdrawal symptoms. That, and exercise, are the few "remedies" that works for virtually everyone. In my experience, the 10-15 minutes after getting out of a really hot bath was the only time I felt remotely normal during a detox.

Hi ...Just hoping you are doin' okay. I am tapering from the oxycodone as of yesterday.. Not 100% sure this is the best way to go but until I get Thomas's Recipe, that's the way I'm gonna try. Jus reading about the "whole bottle of Tramado" gave me concern.
Of course I am new here and just hopin' and prayin' for your success. That gives me hope for mine.

Hey guys was wondering if anyone else have a really tough time with the symptoms at night?  It seems to hit me really hard at night, i'm like so jittery, feeling worse as I type this.  I'm thinking because at night is when i took the biggest dose, i'm thinking my body is like on a time clock wanting the oxys at the time it's supposed to get it?  I went out for a walk and sweated and the funny thing is I could taste the oxy in my mouth not sure if my brain was having a moment or the oxy is actually coming out of my body, through my pores and such.  Crazy stuff! This is the Devil's drug , opiates in general.  I have like a whole bottle of tramadol and considered taking a big dose today to get high but I know It's the same as oxy, the euphoria, It's really hard but i can do it, thanks again for your words of encouragement.

Sounds like you are through the worst of it then, Good for you! You'll start feeling better every day from here on. I had those hot/cold sweats real bad too, and did the same thing, blanket on, blanket off, rocking back and forth. It was nuts. I probably would have blown up if I dared jump into a hot bath at that point.

It's also why a person should never try detox alone. Things can go very wrong.

When I was going through oxy wd's a hot bath would have felt like stripping my skin off with a dull hot knife.  There is no way I could have done a hot bath when I first started oxy wd's. Maybe after a day or two when your nerves start to calm down. A hot bath also isn't a good idea if your heart rate is above 100 or even higher, which is common when you get into the wd's. It could put  a person into heart arithmia.

I have to tip my hat to you because there is no way I could work through a detox, no way!  I admire everyones courage when they take on such an ordeal having to take care of kids or go to work or whatever, i'm always in bed for most of three days.  Anyways way to go on three days and just know that you are almost there, things will be looking better real soon, I promise. As for the robaxicin I apologize i mis read it, I'm actually going to give it a try because sleep is always a problem for.  Good luck and stay strong.

hi guys, day three of my ordeal.  I slept for 4 hourslast night went to bed at 11:30 and woke at 3:30, tried to go back to sleep tossed and turned, body temp kept going from hot to cold kept taking off and putting on the blanket, turned tv on. managed to sleep for another 1 1/2 hrs.  And yes  I was refering to the Robaxin I decided to take 1 robaxin pill at 9 before bed and it actually really helped with the restless legs :-) and the constant tossing and turning, so i'm grateful i have 3 pills left.  I was feeling really weak when i got up went to my parttime job from 8:30-12:30, really didn't want to go but don't have a choice, so i toughed it out was exhausted and feeling really crappy the last hr at work , nausea was coming on again, runny nose.  Going to take a nap, thanks for all the support guys--gnarly1, eagle101,quitinoxys,quin1970,chuck385 and everyone else. your words give me encouragement and inspiration, Rob.

Quinn---I think mono was referring to 4 robaxin pills which are not opiates. I hope I am correct monochrome that is what you were referring to right? I would try the melatonin first though as it is better than taking a muscle relaxer. Monochrome, If you were referring to having 4 oxys  left I agree with Quinn flush those evil things.---Rick

If you have four pills left you need to flush them or you are defeating the purpose of detoxing altogether.  Why erase the two days you have so far and like you said you are not sure if it'll help anyway....Try a really hot bath, it does wonders.  Good luck, will be praying for you.

Mono---As I posted before what will help with sleep is the melatonin. Also you can try valerian root which will calm your nerves. If you try the melatonin get your self some sun during the day which will help activate the melatonin in your body. Then at night take the melatonin and lay in bed in complete darkness, believe me it works it helped me get through a rough detox from oxys. You can also make a tea from the melatonin and valerian root which I found works better. So just put both the melatonin & valerian in a cup with very hot or boiling water and let it steep for about 10 minutes and when it cools down drink it all down. You can add some honey in the mix as the valerian root is sort of bitter. I would avoid using sugar as that may stimulate you hence use the honey. I hope you can get some sleep. God Bless---Rick

I'm on day 4 of a vicodin withdrawal and am feeling much better. Stomach is coming around. Found a vic in my bag today and smiled and threw it out. Follow the advice you've been getting. I took an advil for a headache one each of the first two days and that was it.  Follow the dietary instructions as well - yogurt, crackers, toast, apple sauce, rice when you can. Walking helps or simply moving around. Oh, and posting offers comfort. Each  day that passes means one day more that you're in control of your body - not the oxy.  hang in there!!!!!

Thankyou so much for the kind and inspirational words. It means so much to know that there is someone out there who understands what I am going through.  I told myself that I won't break! There is no turning back I've hated who I become and want to be my true self again.  I threw up about an hour ago and then took a shower.  I am drinking alot of liquids like you all have said.  I have some robaxin wondering if i should take it, I have like 4 pills left from a strained back.  I'm not sure if it will help If I can get some good sleep it would be great.  I am sorry for all those who are going through the same thing right now. Please know you are not alone, i'll keep posting back, and thankyou again for your support my friends, sincerely Rob.

Monochrome as all have said you are half way there so don't give up. As other have metioned try the Thomas recipe and the Amino Acid protocol t helped me during my darkest days. If you are having trouble sleeping you should try melatonin, valerian root ad chamomile tea. I also worked wonders for me. You WILL make it just keep up the positive attitude and Keep on Keepin on. I will pray for you. God Bless---Rick

Just  break things down into smaller time increments......this is day two? Then you know that you can make another day or two - - you wouldnt have much of a choice were it some nasty flu! Are you following some sort of nutrition plan? Especially supps and the amino acids in particular. And there are commercial preperations (hylands restful legs, clacium/magnesium supps) that you may get at Walgreens to help alleviatye symptoms. Stay well hydrated - think gator ade or pedialyte elecrolyte stuff....all of it is available at wal mart - - you will probably want some immodium...look up the Thomas Recipe in the health pages here - lower right screen - and try and follow it....Be prepared for another couple days - some sya day 2 is the worst............... some say day 3 - -
