oxycodone withdrawal

Ok, I am just into day 2 of quitting ocycodone cold turkey. My doctor decided this was the best way to do it as opposed to weaning. I have to say he was right. this is hell. He pout me on 30mg of cymbalta to help ease the anxiety which seems to be helping however tyhe nausea is really bad. I cant eat, sleep or really do much of anything. I'm just wondering how long i can expect the withdrawal to stick around as I said I'm into day 2 and i'm going from 60mg to 100mg oxycodone a day to nbothing. If anyone culd give me an idea of how long I can expect this living hell to go on it would give me a little hope.

2 days in and u r almost half way there...if ur goal is to be med free then maybe u should stay on track.....i was at 80-100 mg a day and tapered quickly in a few days but actually too like 40 mg the day before i quit when i had time off work....i was really ok by day 5 and went to work but i felt tired for a couple of months ...so physically u should be ok in a week or less...mentally it can take a bit longer but one hurdle at a time..stay strong, seek support and post as often as u can...long walks and the vitamin recipe in the health pages helped me alot....i walked on the treadmill each day and only made it 20 minutes day 1 but longer each day..it will help release endorphins so u will feel better....hopefull he gave u something for anxiety and sleep as it will help as well....keep posting and good 4 u!

I am tappering off oxy, with the help of my doctor.  I told him I wanted to stop taking it and he has been a god send.  How come the doc did not try tappering you off of that? After I told him  I wanted to get off of it he said he would take me down 10mlgs a month he said it is not safe for that about to go ct.  I was taking 120 mlgs a day. Maybe if you call his office and tell them you are going through hell and have him call you and tell him you want to tapper he will go that route.  I have gone from 120mlgs to 40mlgs a day. I think it is worth a try anyway, when you tapper it is alot easier than ct.  I have not had any of the problems that most have.  If it were me I would try calling after all he got you to this point he was giving you the meds.   Good luck    Debbie

how long have you been taking it? that's a hefty dose.....typically 7-10 days for physical withdrawls and then post/depression/anxiety/cravings usually last longer.
