percocet withdrawal

I was prescribed percocet 5 about 6 years ago for endometriosis and other stomach problems. Well the doctors had me on these for about 2 years and moved me up to the 10s. In 2009 I was to be scheduled for a hysterectomy but we had to move. Once we got to the new state, I had to fight with doctors here to do the hysterectomy because of my age. Well at 29 (last year) I was able to get the hysterectomy done. Well after the surgery I tried to quit the pills but the withdrawal was insane. So it has been a little over a year since the surgery but I have been taking all kinds of pills (percs, tabs, vicodin) and I am trying to quit because I'm spending money to get these now. I was taking anywhere from 6-12 pills a day depending on the pill. How long does the withdrawal last and what symptoms do I have to look forward too? I already have sweating, anxiety, stomach cramps, tiredness, goosebumps, shivers. So here's the thing, I didn't have any pills all day Sunday, yesterday I had five 5/325 hydrocodones and today 1 hydro. I was trying to tapper down but it's not helping. So what is the worst I have to look forward too. Oh one more thing, I am bipolar so I am prone to depression and anxiety.  Will this be worse?

Well my husband is keeping all pills. He is only giving me 2 a day but I only have enough for 5 days. I also have antidepressants, anxiety meds and sleeping pills that were prescribe for my disorder.  Which he is keeping as well. Today was not as bad, I felt very weak and a lot of stomach cramps and goosebumps but that was about it. Should I try other things like walking and drinking lots of water? My mom said she will take me walking around a track to keep me active and have someone to talk to. I am mostly worried about pain because thats what keeps me going back. I just need support. I don't want to be alone in this. So any advice would help.  Inbox me with ideas if possible.  Thank you

Hi luckie and welcome.

Tapering should be done in an easy and efficient way, by dropping small does over a slow period of time.  We can't give you more detail on that here on the forum since it's against policy.  But I do think that the way you're doing this, it's not surprising you feel so bad.

Tapering isn't for everyone, though.  It can be very difficult to stay disciplined enough to do this correctly.  Do you have anyone who can help you with this plan?
