I have a question, My fiance is going in for surgery tomorrow morning. He has to be there by 7am. He has a script that needs to be filled and we wont have time tomorrow. it;s dated for tomorrow. Is there any pharmacies we can go to tonight after 12am and get it filled? It would be classified tuesday. Let me know.

I have also had this done by my doctor day before surgery...When i went to do my pre-op, blood work , etc, they had all presciptions already made...pain meds, antibiotics, etc...I have never had trouble filling them either....I would say if they give you problems then wait until after midnight and go to walgreens...That is the only 24 hour one i know of..
Like cathy said, they usally call the doctors office, and they ok it, because you are (hubby) is having surgery the next day...

They do, do this all the time...and yes you can get it filled after mid-night..my daughter got her script the day a week before her surgery and i filled the day before..it was dated a day later..i just explained the sit..to them, they called the nurse and she okayed it...good luck...hop all is well with the surgery...

I have heard of this many times. They do that for out patient surgery.
CVS has 24 hour stores too.

I have never heard of a Doctor giving a prescription before and dating it differently.  Sounds strange.  No pharmacy will fill it before the date, however anything after midnight would be considered ok.  After my surgery my husband went to the pharmacy 4 me.  You should be able to go while he is recovering.

Well - you dont even say where you are and your profile isnt filled in either.......... Walgreens will have 24 hour stores and service usually - as will WalMart. Walgreens will work with you usually .... put it on their net and then you can pick it up anytime at any store.............  Good luck with everything ......

Why would a surgeon prescribe pain medication the day before? Also, why would you not have time to fill it tomorrow if he will be off for surgery?
I am just curious.
