pills

Hello, I am really not familiar with this forum, I'm somewhat new, but I posted a question  on the addiction chat forum and had no replies?????  I wrote because I had an emergency dental appointment today for an abcess tooth.  My dentist, along with two other scripts, wrote me one for vicodin, a small script..only 24 pills.   I went to the pharmacy and dropped off the two other scripts and NOT the one for the vicodin although I really wanted to.  I am 20 days clean of vicodin and realize that it would not be a good idea to fill it but I guess my question is if I did take them over a few day period which I think I can, would I go through any w/d after?  I know my best bet is to just stay away and not fill it.  Any advice, suggestions appreciated.  I'm a little ashamed to be asking because I think I know what you will all say but I really needed to hear from some of you if possible.

Lucy see how much power those stupid pills have. When we re-lapse its not when we put that pill/pills in our mouth, its when we know that we have an addiction and dont mention a thing to the dentist, and are holding the RX consumed with the fight to )USE) to use a harm-reduction method. The way people that arenot addicts do!!! Lucy its not the w/ds symtoms thats important, its YOU.I dont know you,but if i asked you this question, you know what the answer.Honey thou shall not leed us into temptation.I am not a bible thumper, but an addict who acts just like you.I would never tell a doctor about my addiction, hence i would not get the pills.Crazy aw john

Thanks for the advice... knowing that I would survive without them, and I don't HAVE to take them, and also reading what you've written, "Congrats on your clean time"  is enough to rip up the script.  I know it's not worth going through any more w/d, struggle....thanks again!!!

Unless it is absolutely necessary- do NOT take the pills. The pain of relapse and WD's sucks way worse than tooth pain.
Excellent job on not filling the vicodin script- a HUGE pat on the back to you for that.
Advil, ibuprofen etc work pretty darn good. Give them a shot.
Keep posting and once again: A job well done on avoiding filling the pain pill script -(rip it up)
Stay strong

Hi Lucy!

I just posted this to someone else.... If you take them, let's say every few hours for a few days, you will probably suffer some withdrawal. If you HAVE to take them, try and stagger your dose.

Congrats on your clean time!!!!!!

I would say. Stay away. I think it is very very hard to do them right if you are only 2 weeks off of them.
This is how i relapsed last year.
