pregnant and on fentanyl

My daughter has a torn disc in her lower back plus a few bulging ones as well. She  was just about to have a disc replacement surgery when she found out she's pregnant. She has been on fentanyl patches 50mg  for quie some time now but ow that she's pregnant her spine doctor won't write her and more sripts and her OBGYN wrote her a perscription for one box and decided he doesn't feel comfortable giving her that so now she is left with nothing!! We are molitary and to go to another doctor we have to have a referral from base medical. The poor thing is on her first day with no med and is withdrawing and in quite a bit of pain. We are very worried about the baby too!! I know he/she has to have a physical dependancy on it too. We're not only afraid of what she is starting to go through but for the fetus as well. I don't know where to turn.

How horrible..Please go see another dr..that is crazy..The dr. doesn't "feel comfortable"!! Thats ****..I am with Nauty on this..The whole med prof..is tickin me off too..Please keep posting..Your daughter and baby are in my prayers..

Omg !!   poor thing........what is going on !!  doctors , nurses, Indian chiefs doing these crazy things........What a heartless, and selfish, no concern for anyone but covering his own A$$.......please talk to another doctor.......any doctor regardless as goingtomakeit says.......that is just not fair.........50mcg is just plain cruelty to pull someone off cold turkey.........I feel so bad for both of you.  How far along is she????  Please do whatever you can to help her it may get pretty bad so act fast.......call any doctor and see if there is anyone with a heart to help her

That seems highly unusual. Did the Dr not address the withdrawals that will happen? Fentanyl is awful to get off of. I would do some calling around and see what can be done for her, even if it is off base.
