I'm still up, day 3 of wd's.  yesterday was horrible; body aches, twitching etc.  But I managed to fall asleep for several hours last night, after no sleep the night before.  And today, i was tired, but no pain or tension, and I thought I was done.  but it all came back tonight.  It's 5:30am and still no sleep.  by body is real twitching and achey.  I have some promethazine, it's a antihistimine, used for treating nausea.  I took one a little while ago hoping it will knock me out.  I think its' like a heavy duty Claratin.  Anybody here tried it for sleep?

Promethazine is a generic for Phenergan. It is used to treat nausea and vomiting. I took light chemotherapy 5 years ago and that is what they gave me for Nausea and vomiting. Not to be rude, but it is NOT anything like a claritin. It is usually prescribed when someone has EXTREME nausea and vomiting like I had. And yes if it is a 25mg dose it should knock you out- or at least that is what it did to me. In any event it will hopefully give you some relief. Best wishes. -Jason-

25 mgs is the usual dose..and yes sleepines is a huge side effect so it should help u sleep...have seen 50 mgs prescribed but that is about as much as i have seen prescribed...little pieces can help anxiety during the day as well..safe drug and not physically habit forming...safer than most sleep meds...sleep is important to recovery and good luck to u

Great job!! Keep it up -you can do it! I know-the not sleeping is the worst. I usually could take regular unisom or whtever it's called but yeah, I'd have to take, like, 4 of them vs. 1. Try that maybe? It's over the counter.Good luck!

I just got up, i finally fell asleep at 7am after another horrible night of muscle spasms and aches etc.  i don't know if the antihistimine i took helped or if i just wore out.  since this is day 3 clean, i'm hopin this is about over.

phernergan is a great detox comfort med., if it does not help i can send you a list of opiate comfort meds that are commonly used in an inpatient setting that you can ask your doctor about

A 75mg dose has occasionally worked for me, (I weigh 56kgs),  but I still feel very groggy in the morning.  If you don't have to be in top shape first thing, it's worth a try.
