question on tabs....

ok I know that I have a problem having loritab in my possition just isn't good for me  BUT what if there taken 1-2 a day every other day or so? for pain? will that cause an addiction as well?? I guess the word is I am trying to break the habit went cold turkey (Day 7) but I am noticing the pain in my back coming back.. slowing but surley... and the neproxen is not working...My doctor allows me 5 a day but thats just crazy. So what if I just took them as needed would that work to not cause addiction or does this type of drug have to be in your system to work like oxy??? any help would be great... Jinelle

You are on day 7 of Cold Turkey... Right?

Just by the mere fact that you are still in withdrawal so to speak... still.... that causes pain all on it's own.

It's six weeks for me.  I live in NJ... damp, ugly, rainey and every joint I have hurts.  If I use advil, I feel just as good if not better as when I was taking the Hydros.

Thing is... they don't eliminate pain, they just adjust how our body handles the pain... after you use them, for any length of time, you just need more of them and still feel like ****.   Our bodies, need time to heal after w/d and you need to give your neurotransmitters time to absorb some of the pain on their own... the Opiates kill that function and it takes a bit of time to function on it's own again.

Just my humble opinion, I'd wait before I'd start using again... take some advil, and give yourself a chance to see how you feel in a week or so.   Abuse with those pills is evident... we empower the pill when we use it.. and it will take over again.

Why kill the last 7 days you just went through to get off of them, when ultimately you know what they can do.

The choice is yours... this is just my two-cents... and you can take it for exactly what you paid for it.

Take Care of you

The Loritab you are talking about is even more powerful than Oxy. The very first dose has had some horror stories attached to it. How it will affect you in the long run is anybody's guess. It is a highly addictive pill and, if I am not mistaken, was taken off of the shelves a while back. Maybe I was mistaken about the drug being withdrawn but it sure sonded like it was. Anyway, good luck. As for Naproxen, I was given it for a while. Like all other similar types such as Aleve etc. it carries a few side effects but as far as I cn tell is not addictive. If I am wrong in that regard I am sure someone here will correct me. Good luck

I would think if your not mentally addicted, 1-2 every other day wouldn't be bad. Assuming that it didn't lead to more, and more, and.... you get the point! Most of us here couldn't just take a couple here and there and thats it!! (I really hope I'm not offending anyone? I keep calling us all addicts and I don't know all of you. My mom would kick my ass for being rude if she knew!!) BUT back to the fact at hand.. if you think you can do it and need it, do it. If you think you can't be  that stringent and stick to your every once in a while rule, DON'T CHANCE IT!!
