questions about detox methods

Ok......I read the thomas recipe.  Some questions.  What is the ltyrosine for?  What is the megnesium for?  I've got everything but the ltyrosine, but I am on antidepressants (lexapro and cymbalta) so should I even take that?  What else can I do for myself?  eat clean, get moving, lots of water...

I'm tapering pretty quickly until next weekend and then I'm dumping the rest down the drain/disposal/toilet/whatever.  I had some stomach trouble and a headache today, but a little advil took care of that.

I followed the thomas recipe and it did absolutely nothing except for the fact that the anti diarrhea stuff helped.  For some people on here it seems to help and for others like me it does nothing.  Either way the wd's will suck but they won't last long and then they will be over.

That's the thought that helped me...just knowing that each hour was one less hour of feeling bad.  You can get through it.  The fear of the wd's I think is often much worse than the wd's actually are.  They're no fun but they're not some horrific unbearable thing that you can't get through.  It's just a week or two of feeling crummy and having a hard time sleeping...and sometimes being depressed or anxious as well...Ok so it ***** but it goes away pretty fast.

I followed the thomas recipe and it really helped.  The l tyrosine is for an energy boost in the morning..both mental and physical and i really think it helps.  I got 3 hours of sleep last night as i just went off on monday but the l tyrosine got me out for a run.  The magnesium helps wth leg cramps and i take that at night...not as sure if that helps.  However i am not sure about the l tyrosine and anti depresssants.  if you search thomas recipe on this site you will get more information.  Good luck.  Today is day 6 for and it is starting to get better.

The L-tyrosine gives you some mental and physical energy. From what I understand you use it a few days after you start detox, say day 4 or 5. For the first few days I am going to try and stay as relaxed as I can as I know stress and anxiety are major triggers for me. I will hold off on using the L-tyrosine until the worst has passed and I need some energy to start functioning normally again. For the first 3-4 days I plan on soaking as much and as often as I can in a hot tub, take 1 or 2 Xanax every 4-6 hours (thats what the label says on my prescription) and after day 4 will flush the remaining xanax as I know it can be addictive too.

I'm starting my detox on Monday. When are you starting? Good idea about tapering beforehand. I have done that a bit over the last few days. Instead of my usual 100mgs a day I'm down to about 60-70. Not a huge decrease but I'm hoping even that will help lessen the wds a little bit.

Anyways congrats on your decision to quit and you've come to the right place. The people here are amazing and you will get a lot of support.

PS the magnesium will help with the restless legs. Get some epsom salts for the tub. It will force the magnesium into your muscles. Stock up on bananas too the potassium helps with the RLS thing too.

I never did use the thomas r so I dont have a clue. I used bonemeal, mega daily and various other vitamins I had already. Do you have access to a steam bath. That helped me. Hot tubs. I also used microwavable heating elements called snuggle safe pet warmers. I put them in my clothing when I couldnt be in the hot bath for the first 4 days I was so cold. Pray   Post and read posts
