Well, I tried to quit tobacco to soon after quitting opiates. The patch was working good, but because I really wanted it to begin with. I had a severe bipolar episode and decided I should wait to quit. I think if you really want it, the physical withdrawal is technically 3-5 days, but you have to have your head ready. I will CT next time, but I have to work on other issues first.
I tried to quit using gum, patches and electronic cigs none of that worked. I finally quit by just going completely cold turkey and I haven't smoked since December 2012.
I smoked for 2 years. I know not a long time but this is how I quit. Ok I started just smoking half then I'd go down to a half of a half. I also chewed gum everytime id get an urge. And I wouldn't smoke that first one in the mornings. Id wait as long as I could then smoke. You could try eating sunflower seeds too. Hope that helps.
Good luck!
Princess.
