I have it too.... Had it from drinking and taking too much aspirin, it left when I got sober. Like a good addict I switched to Ultram and now have it again.

As before it lessens when I cut back or stop.

Still sober, but getting off this Ultram is a real pisser.

could be tinnitus...I've read that too much vicodin or other opiates (remember Rush Limbaugh and his Oxy/hearing problem) can cause ringing/buzzing in the ears.  I have it.  I don't believe there is a cure for it but if you read up on the net in a place or 2 there are ways of "canceling out" the noise with some gizmos available somewhere.  I believe mine came from over indulgence of benedryl years ago when I was having trouble sleeping.

Over the years I've become somewhat used to it, but at times it drives me up the wall.

I'd check with an ENT specialist just to be sure and not take my comments as diagnosis.
