my son had a rapid detox and a naltrexone implant inserted, coming off a 75mg daily dose of methodone, a near death experience. He was still suffering severe withdrawal symptoms after the procedure and found that taking 4mg - 8mg of suboxone relieved his vomiting severe pain and stomach cramps is this a safe alternative to the usual benzo method

If he is getting any respite from his withdrawals via illicit suboxone,i would be questioning the validity and/or efficacy of the naltrexone implant. It obviously isnt working properly. Naltrexone implants are supposed to short circuit the bodies ability to metabolise exogenous opioids. For your son to feel the effects of suboxone, this short circuit process has been compromised or isnt workng efficiently. I would be taking him back to the surgeon who performed the implant surgery and asking for my money back.

I do not like suboxone. While I used there were alot of times I wanted to stop. Or look for a way out. People swore by suboxone. I took it and comming off it was just as bad. It can be abused and it gets you high. Theres no unpainful way off opiates. There is a price that HAS to be paid. Ive looked for opiate blockers all of it because I wanted out but didnt want the pain. I wish I  could tell you different. Its been 6 days clean for me. The last amount of oxys I took was 60mg. Thats alot to try and come off of. I wanted to ween but monday was comming and monday I  was quiting so I had to pay the price. I did and still am. I do have to say things are much much better. Very little pain. Still weak stomach nothing to bad and sleep problems.I now am a fim believer in the nada plan. It works the fastest. Its the most uncomfortable. I wish your son the best. Oh the nada isnt advisable if hes using high doses. Some dont like the ween down thing but it has worked for me before. I weened down and was clean for 6 weeks. Thats was much easier than this time. Ill remember this for along time and really think it will help me stay clear of taking anymore opiates.

No - suboxone is a very strong opioid much like methadone - will be very counter-productive for his rapid detox...another one that can be a beast to get off of.
