I to suffer from the chills and sweats, so the neighbor turned me on to brewers yeast. It is about 15-20 dollars a can and can be found at a natural food store. Put 1-2 tsps in a glass of fruit juice and swig it down. It really works esp at night. I wake up just drenched in sweat, and then because I am so wet, then I am chilled. THe brewers yeast works wonders. I am out, and boy can I tell the difference. Works for menopause as well.
One of the many fun side effects of the sub is sweating - anywhere from just 'more than normal' to 'excessive'. The cold chills may or may not be a "normal" side effect. If he's feeling sick like he's going thru wds then he may not be on enough sub... if he's getting random sporadic cold chills it may be a "normal" side effect. The trouble sleeping is hugely common, I took Clonodine every night to help me sleep - I actually still take at night from time to time. It's a med for high blood pressure and non-addictive physically. (Anything can be addictive mentally.) I got your PM... I tried looking but didn't find anything. Maybe I have the wrong name?? Let me know ok? Hope he's hanging in there!
wait....what??
he shouldnt be sick On Suboxone. It sounds like hes not taking enough.
hi. i also had the sleeping problem after starting suboxone. the best advice i got (which came from a sleep clinic doctor) which really helped me was: only get into bed once you are completely exhausted and know you will sleep for sure. otherwise do anything BUT sit/sleep in bed - read a book in a chair, go for a walk, drink some tea, etc.
reason being, you are trying to re-program your brain so that it knows once you get into bed and lie down, it's time to sleep.
i'm one of those people who will lie in bed and watch TV for hours before finally sleeping, hence this system really worked for me. i obviously don't think it was the sole reason i kicked the sleeping problem, but it did help a lot. also, i totally agree re: meletonin and chamo tea.
it may be hard to find one answer to your son's sleep problem, so it may be wise to change a few things up ie. start to drink tea before going to bed, meditation/relaxation, etc, etc - hope you find a solution!!
hope this helps, and if not, sorry for wasting your time!!
thanks for the response. i wil pass it along
