side effects of quitting

After several years of losing absolutely everything to oxycontin I think that this time I am actually finally on top of weening off of both.  I've been through horrible withdrawal in the past that have kept me from being able to quit so instead I have been reducing what I take bit by bit this time and so far have been sticking with it.
One question though - since I started reducing my intake of oxy's I have not been able to keep my eyes open for long.  I have been sleeping for the most part of 3 days now.
Is this a normal part of the process?
Thanks.

Every time that I have ever been going through withdrawal I have not been able to sleep so I know just what you're talking about on that one. So I was kinda expecting the same thing now when decreasing what I take.  I am taking enough to avoid all of the usual physical signs of withdrawal that would normally keep me from sticking to trying to quit.

I'd say that sleeping so much now is actually a huge benefit for me as I am avoiding a lot of anxiety and temptation!

If only real sleep during withdrawal was possible - I bet a lot of people could quit sooner if it was!
