YES I was able to switch and taper from 62 Fentanyl down to 60mg OxyContin. That is quite a bit less OxyContin than the Fentanyl was but it was not hard and I did it all at once in about two weeks. I tapered a tiny bit on the Fentanyl and then stopped it completely and started the OxyContin. I did just fine with little to no w/d symptoms. The change in medication gives your body a new start kinda so I actually found I had a lot more pain relief after switching because my body was so use to the Fentanyl. Now I have tapered completely off the OxyContin and I feel better than ever. Less pain than ever! Good luck, you can do this!!! Just take it slow slow slow!
A true taper should be very slow with Fentanyl. It is harder to come off than most other meds. I tapered and then jumped to oxycodone and tapered from that. If you feel crappy, ask to slow the taper down. The lower you go the more you feel it. The Thomas rexipe will help and there's lots of things to help your symptoms. When you feel symptoms, post and people will tell you what will help. It's worth coming off. I was on 100 mcg every 48 hours and I believe it reaked havoc with my health. Staying hydrated is really important. It's very easy to become dehydrated.
Hey buddy! Congrats on your decision to taper down. I know fentanyl can be a handful. There's several members who has tapered quite successfully
At 50mcg, my doctor wanted me to switch over to Oxycotin but insurance didn't allow it, which led to going cold turkey.
I'll be passing your post to current and past fentanyl users!
