Yes, you need to be careful with detoxing from benzos cause of siezures, unfortunately the only way to stop benzos is with benzos. There may be things that make the withdrawal seem easier but it still is the siezures issue, so you would need anti siezures meds like phenobarbital or taper off benzos slow, depending on length and dose
sorry ,,,i meant i am now tapering off subs,,,,,,
I am not tapering off of sub,s,,,Have you ever asked your dr for trazadone,
i was told it is not addicting, and helps at nightime,I hope this helps,
you helped me,because i was going to ask my dr,about clonidine, and now ill
just stick w/trazodone,,,,hang in there
Any benzo w/d should be supervised by a doctor for the very reason you stated....seizures. Clonidine is actually a blood pressure medication and if you are taking it, make sure you are monitoring you blood pressure regularly. I didn't w/d off benzos. My doc was opiates. but, clonidine worked well for my anxiety, restlessness, and heart palpitations when I was detoxing. I took 0.1mg every 8-12 hours (depending on severity of my symptoms). I only needed it the first 3 days. Benzos take longer to detox though.
Please at least let your doctor know what you are doing.
i probably should have worded my question a little better....but while on the site i got some information that i was lookin for
