thanks everone for your comments. i have been a daily user of 10-15 5mg hydro and 4 20 mg oxycontin for about six months. i don't eat vicodin and oc on the same day. when i run out of hydros i can always find oc, i have went cold turkey the first time and i was clean for about 4 years and started back for some reason,  dumbest mistake of my life, i know if i go cold turkey i got 2 weeks of feeling like ****, a little scared of that, no energy and depressed for 2 weeks, no thank you. as far i tapering off vicodin, if got them i will eat them, can't really control myself to be honest, i am hoping to be on the subs no longer than 2 months, hopefully one, i do love the feeling, but if i ever get off these devil pills again, i will never take another one again

Hi there-
I have been addicted to percocet/vicodin for about 6 years on and off.  About 6 months ago I went on Suboxone and it was the best thing I ever did.  I was taking about 15 5mg percs a day.  The doctors did tell me that I needed 16mg a day and that was way to much.  I found the right dose for me, which was 2mg twice a day.  I have now tapered off to .5 mg a day and am having trouble just stopping now.   I don't know if part of it is mental or what.  I have been on .5mg for about 5 days and it is getting better.  I just don't have much for energy and want to feel 100%.  I am 29 years old and have 3 children under 5.  I was always able to stop for my pregnancies, but went back to it once the kids were a few months old.  Only recently did my addiction get so bad.  The first couple of days of taking the subs I didn't feel great (headaches), but that didn't last long and I felt normal while on it.  It has a stimulant in it so that you have energy (which is always why I wanted the percs).  I guess it depends how much hydro you are taking and if you can just cut yourself off slowly from that.  I couldn't taper of off percs.  Once I had 1, I always wanted more, especially when I would come down and feel like ****.  I hope this helps.  I don't normally right in forums, but thought that I could help.  Good Luck!

hydro is one of the weaker narcotics..and sub is a big gun..read up as suggested..dont jump into something deeper than u r already doing..sub is a narcotic..much stronger than hydro...it is a partial antagonist and advertised to be wd free..which is not the case for many by a long shot.it is the new methadone with lots of claims to make it seem better..but it is a narcotic..it can help u thru wd/perhaps wd free if used correctly..very addictive and if u dont get off fast u could possibly have a long road ahead...what is ur dose per day and time of use?  have u tried to quit on ur own?  Do u attend meetings or seek any type of aftercare?  Sub can be a tool to help with getting clean..but it can not do the work for u..u must be ready deep down..an expensive venture as well..keep posting

how much drugs are you using? most ppl are fine with 2mg-4mg ... the doctors always prescribe ppl way too much ... like 2-3 8 mgs pills ... i dont think they know much about it where i live (canada) it seems like they want ppl hooked as long as possible. but what did was 2mg in the morning and 2mg at night and that was plenty ... and i was using 3-5 u 80 mg oxyconitin a day
