Hi pillzrbad - welcome to the forum.  Ga Guy is right, you should really consider a taper because jumping from 8mg is going to be pure agony for you.  It is worse than jumping from 200mg of hydro and the withdrawal will be twice as long.  You seriously want to taper or you will suffer for two weeks plus.  You mention that sub is destroying your relationship - tapering to the lower dose will lessen any side effects, so if it is problems with that that are hurting your relationship, that should improve.  Drop down to 4mg without a problem, then take it 1mg or less at a time until you are only at .5mg per day before jumping off completely.  Listen to Ga Guy, talk to your doctor and work on a taper, cold turkey will be miserable.  Keep posting on your progress and don't hesitate to ask for support.  All the best

You are going to be in for a prolonged withdrawal if you jump off at 8mg. The best results come from jumping off at .5mg a day. The good news is that the taper down to 4mg should be easy. Then you can try dropping 1mg a week or so. I'd advise you to at least try and taper down for a month or so under your doctor's care. Why isn't a taper an option? I believe that a drop to 4mg or so would also help many of your symptoms. Talk to your doctor!!
