suboxone withdrawal

If you are hurting.... it will end!!!!     I started sub after a year long stint with methadone... low dose from the start.. no higher then 50 mg(methadone)  They pushed that b.s about how easy it was to detox off the subs......,NOT.. my personal sub doc (VERY EXPENSIVE BY THE WAY) assured me it was giving me my life back.... easy to say when you are not going thru methadone withdrawal and want to quit hurting. but in reality its the toughest 2 weeks of your life. I have a very physical job (I move furniture) and fell hook line sinker for that lie. I went thru 4 days of hell making sure I didnt get PRECIPITED WITHDRAWALnow I am struggiling with 7 days clean. I have slept a grand total of 12 hrs sleep. i was down to a crumb of sub when I jumped ship and I am still hurting. There is no easy way Out. there is a Product called withdrawal ease which may save you some pain, but i believe the best lessons are learned the hard way. if it was easy , there would be a LOT more Addicts suffering. It will END..... tough it out and good luck

Well done with your 7 days clean. I'm very pleased with myself after being clean from sub's for 16 days. Your wright it does get a lot easier. The first 4-7 days are a nightmare!! As for sleep I got about 2 hours a nightmare for the first 10 days. After returning to work with practically no energy I was returning home exhausted but on the plus side started to sleep a bit more about 4-5 hours a night. I got a few sleeping tablets of the doc and got 7 hours sleep last night, I only took them as I was off work to do, I find they can make you feel a bit drowsy and lazy the next day.

Yes they do talk a lot of s**t about how easy it is to stop. I stopped on about 1.2-0.8mg, looking back far to high, but that's the past now.

After 2 weeks the light just gets brighter and life starts getting enjoyable again.

If like me you suffer from anxiety get some beta-blockers from the doc, they do help and are non addictive.

Well done on getting clean and good luck.

I just want to wake up and this nightmare be over.I was on suboxone 2 1/2 years at 4 mg a day. Then subutex at 4 mg for another 6 mths then i quit abrubtly. This is my third attempt to quiting and this is the last attempt I know i can do it I just want to know when can i put this behind me and just live a sober life. When will I sleep on my own and when will my energy come back?? I have three small kids and i am a single mom with no support system at all. I JUST started to feel better(80%)after 16 days after subs. My sleep patterns are slowly returning normal, although I still wake up at 3 am and have difficulty getting back to sleep. BUT I SLEEP!!!my appetite is roaring back,I cant eat enough... making up for a couple weeks starvation and lack of sleep I guess. Like I said, IT WILL END!!!keep your eyes on the prize, remember the pain and GOD FORBID.. never give up!!  God helps those who help themselves, and if you have made it this far You can survive this... I have been thru hell and learned that it is the best detterent to future misery. may all of you suffering stay strong and be as blest as me... Chuck 13

Congrats on 7 days - that is quite an accomplishment - For my fiance and I suboxone was difficult to get off...we were only taking very small amounts...micro-mg - We detoxed from methadone in spring 2008...it was a rough few months so I can certainly understand your position.   The doctors make me very upset when they advise people suboxone is a safe alternative to methadone with no withdrawals....they actually tell patients that here...it is frustrating.
There are some remedies that could help to alleviate some of the discomforrt you are still feeling...check out the health pages (right of the screen) and some of the posts and journals.  There is a lot of knowledge, support and encouragement here.  Your body needs its nutrients now more than ever - and most people find it difficult to eat - some Boost or Ensure could help give your body some of the things it needs to heal.  Also, a product called NaturalCalm is great - it is a powdered blend of calcium and magnesium that helped us alot during methadone withdrawals.  Best of luck to you...please continue to post -
Peace

Way to go on 7 days! I am now at 25 or 26 days off Subs and although I still have NO motivation I am doing GREAT! I really didn't have any issues coming off them. Lil anxiety on days 5-6. I tried to make it worse than it really was. Keep your head up and just know you are NOT alone!
Best Wishes
