suboxone

So, I have an appt to get on sub Saturday.  I am still not sold on this idea.  Is it really better to be on sub than to be on 60-70mg norco a day???  For one it costs a lot of money to be on sub and it costs me no money to be on norco.  It seems to be replacing one drug with another.  I do think I feel better on sub emotionally vs. norco.  With norco; i am preoccupied with when i am taking my next dose or how many i have/can take in a day, etc....  And are subs healthier per se than norco???  I just want to be healthy again.  This pic was me before the pain, before the norco.  I look at this pic and see a happy shining soul, now I look in the mirror and I see a worried, guilty stressed out fatty.  I want to shine again, I want to feel beautiful again, I want to be sober and happy at the same time, but it seems so impossible.  Again I am ranting, but this helps me sort out my questions and any advice helps me weigh all the options.  Ugggggghhhhhghghghghghghgh.... I am so confused.  I am going to the doctor's in a few hours to get my refill of norco and honestly I just wish I could never go again.  Never put another little yellow pill in my mouth.  I also want to know how they figure out how much sub to give you.  What if it isn't enough and I still feel like crap and am not able to take my norco?  I have taken 16mg in a day and feel great, not high, just great. I don't want to be high; I just want to be normal.  Will that ever be the case?  I went to see a drug counselor today and have to go to a meeting tomorrow.  Anyone have any info on suboxone the dosing how they determine, how healthy it is, anything else would be much appreciated.

Yes. Safer, doesn't damage your body, and it's a personal program w/ you and your Dr. It's actually CHEAPER in the long run... The medication may be expensive, but think about what you spend a day on your other habit... The subs come where you can brek them in quarters... Your Dr. will adjust your dose, but if you start on, say for example, one 8 mg a day, say half in the am, maybe a half or a quarter at night, that's still the cost of one sub a day. It's a weening process, and it gives you the same effect as an oppiate, blocking the brain receptors. It lasts longer and will help you not crave your addiction. It will help you get through any physical and mental w/ draws, and like I said, it's a step by step w/ your Dr. Your Dr will explain everything to you... Personally, I found it to save my life, and when you ween from them, for me, was not like trying to get off an opiate... You stilll have a ton of energy. It is the first step to getting help. Everybody is different. You will be surprised... I was and very happy. I was able to function, I felt better, and weened down where I'm almost done w/ the program. I have no cravings... and never want to go back to the other-vics. But, everybody is different and have a different outlook on this. This is just my personal exp...

I just saw one today and have to go to a meeting tomorrow with him.  He didn't say much, first meeting so just history and stuff.  I decided against the subs.  One thing for another.  I am going to continue to taper down off the norco.  Went and got my refill today.  I am at 7/day.  I was at 6/day but my Dr.  must have forgot or something; I wasn't going to remind him b/c you are right about my romance with Norco.  I will get there slowly; I have faith.  I think these meetings will help....I hope.  I have heard wonderful things about this d&a specialist.  He treated my ex best friend and she has been clean for almost 8 years.... she is my ex b/c of my addiction.  We grew up together like sisters it is quite sad and the most important thing thus far I have lost b/c of the pills.  Honestly I can take or leave the other two drugs I am on.  They do nothing for me as far as making me feel good.  I DO have adhd and insomnia.  Also the add helps with the weight loss (off label use).  Thanks for being supportive and stuff.  Good night.

Be carefull with this because it will be harder to get off sub (if you stay on it for very long), than hydrocodone. You could be trying to put out a fire with gasoline. all the best

Frankly, I'm concerned with what seems like a real romance you have with the norco. I understand that feeling. I was there just like you. The problem was that these feelings were there 2 years before I hit bottom. I flirted with Suboxone as well, and found it to work great as a "placemark" for my addiction. I think you should really do some research, get to some meetings, and see what you feel in yur soul is your best alternative. Like I mentioned in my other posts to you, I think some of the other drugs your taking, coupled with their side effects on each other, are causing most of your problems. Getting advice from an addictionologist or seeking a good rehab may be in your best interest.
