suboxone

im gonna leave out all the details cause i have a very hard time getting to ther point when im trying to explain things...long story short...my dr increased my dose of suboxone in the middle of my two appointments so now i have a new script that needs to be filled before the original one was supposed to run out.  its easter weekend and i run out of suboxone tomorrow since i have been taking it at the new dose and im going out of state to visit family.  my insurance would not fill the new script i have because it need to get an override on the dose change but because its a holiday weekend it will not get done till after i run out.  im going to visit family out of state and im freaking out.  i should be able to get the new script filled tomorrow but its easter sunday and im gonna be out of town so i have four strips left and im trying to prepare for possibly running out before i get my new script filled.  im gonna be around my family and on vacation so how i really dont want to be in withdrawal especially since ive been being good and only taking what the dr gave me as prescibed.  should i not take the 3 that im supposed to take today in case i cannot get my script filled while i am out of town?  my husband wants me to take them as prescibed but i might run out before i can get the new script filled.  i guess my question is this:  how long does it take to go into withdrawal from 3 subs a day and should i take only one a day over the next 4 days until i make sure my script can be filled?

I was on 16mg a day and had to wait 7 days til I got my new script and I had no problems at all.  Try not to freak out it will only make things harder on you. Suboxone has a long half life 37.5 hrs. If you take an 8mg pill you would have 4 Mg still in your system 37.5 hrs later. I have been off them for 207 days now and I jumped off at 2mg and it wasn't til day 5 that I could tell I hadn't had any and even then it was just mild anxiety which by day 6 was gone. Some ppl have a lot harder time coming off than I did but long story short it's only 4 days and you will still have it built up in your system so in my opinion you will be fine!

Did u try to call the ins comp? They shod be able to do the override and then the pharmacy just has to run it. Try calling them

if the doctor wrote the new script for a different dosage why would the pharmacy question that? sometimes they are just too picky.
but i know that i have gone out of town and just had the pharmacy transfer my RX to a pharmacy where i am visiting. i never had a problem with that. is your pharmacy a chain or some mom and pop pharmacy? if it is a chain i see no problem getting it refilled in a different town.
