is this the forum i would come into to learn more about suboxone treatment to get off of my extremely high dosages of oxys, morphine and valium? i am scheduled to start the program next week, and really scared of the 16 hourwd. time i have to go through to be able to take it.  my dr. is a pain specialist, but he is three hours away, so we will be doing a lot of adjustments over the phone.  i am already off of the valium, and will be for 2 weeks by the time i start the sub.  i would really just like to have some input about suboxone, both positive and negative.   lucyred

Subs for 4 years now. Trying to get off. Fourth attempt and I get wd symptoms 8 hours after my last piece. It’s not holding me no 24 hours.  It’s 2 am and I can’t wait till 8am I’m taking a piece now but I’m pissed cuz it’s too early to be up chain smoking with hella energy

Very good information abritt! I didn't know you could spit after the pill dissolved! I also didn't know you could take just 4 mgs a day. I was on 8mgs a day and my Dr at first wanted me to take the whole 8 in the morning but it gave me a headache then he said I could split it up however I wanted. I split it up into two doses a day but when I first started I split it up into 3 doses. It was hard for me to go from taking a handful of pills every couple of hours to taking 1 pill twice a day. It was all mental with me and one I got over that I could take it twice a day. I got pregnant when I was on the suboxone and I had to be switched to methadone which I wish they never did. I'm in the process now of switching back to suboxone. I hate being on methadone, its the wors thing ever! Do you know anything about switching from methadone to suboxone? I've been trying to figure out the best way to do it. Any info would be appreciated! Thanks :-)

yup i can def help ya out with suboxone and you have no reason to be scared it is actually a great drug as long as you do it the right way and also slynn is absolutly right you do not have to be in full blown withdrawal to take it just mild withdrawal and you will be fine and as far as the spit goes i always spit it out because swallowing suboxone has no effect i just keep the spit in my mouth about 5 minutes after the tab  is completely dissolved then spit that nast sh*t out haha.  But suboxone is actually narcan and bupe(not the whole name cant ever remember exactly how its spelled haha) and the bupe is the opiod and narcan is what will throw you into withdrawal if you take it to soon after taking pain meds and im sure you have heard if you do take a pain med while on suboxone you will go right into withdrawal which is completely untrue it is only the other way around so if you take a pain med and 4 hours later take suboxone you are going to be hurting but if you take suboxone and 4 hours later take a pain med absolutly nothing will happen and that is not because of the narcan either that is because the bupe is so much stronger than pretty much any pain med out that that the pain meds cannot knock the bupe off the receptors the narcan is there only to stop ppl from shooting it up and when suboxone is taken sublingually(under the tounge) narcan has 0 effect so the bupe is what keeps you out of withdrawals and keeps the cravings away. So at 4 mg of suboxone will actually cover approx 98% of the opiod receptors in your brain which is why you will not withdrawal and because of the ceiling effect of suboxone with is also 4 mg you will not get high for the first 2 days you might feel a little buzz but that goes away fast because you only have to take such a low does because being the ceiling effect is 4mg nomore than 4 mg is going to have any effect on you it will only make the med last longer im just assuming you know what i mean by ceiling effect here to but if not or ya have any more questions feel free to ask me on here or shoot me a private msg n i will we glad to help any way i possibly can

I got on Suboxone in 2007 and it saved my life! I was on percocet, vicodin, oxy's all kinds of pain pills for 3 years. I took 6 ultram the day before I went to the suboxone clinic for my fisrt dose, they gave me 8mg there. People have told me not to swallow the spit in your mouth until the pill is completly gone. My friend did and withdrawl hit her hard for about 15 mins. I didn't experience any withdrawl at all when I started suboxone or for the 2 years I was on it. I was'nt even in full blown withdrawl when I took my first suboxone pill, I was in a mild withdrawl. What I like about suboxone is it makes you feel how you felt before you ever started pills, normal. I felt normal from the second I woke up till the second I fell asleep, everyday! I was on 8 mgs/day, 4mgs in the morning and 4mgs in the evening and that worked great for me. I also didn't have any cravings for pills while on the suboxone, which was great!
