taking cymbalta and also l tyrosine

I am taking 60 mg of Cymbalta daily.  Can I try l tyrosine for a couple of months to help lost weight and firm  up?

Cymbalta is a drug that requires tapering off. The instructions from the pharmacy say this. I'm on Cymbalta too. It's not a drug to go off cold turkey.
  Your Pdoc will be the one to check with regarding switching from a strong drug to a natural unregulated substance. Are you having trouble staying fit & tone?  Good luck. We are here to offer support. Pamela

From all I've read.....No.....not without checking with the dr that prescribes your Cymbalta.  Here's the warning from our re-posted Thomas Recipe in our Most Viewed Health Pages:

[WARNING If you are on anti-Depressants, use medical supervision on L-Tyrosine, SamE and all mood enhancers. There can be a risk if taking L-Tyrosine, 5 HTP  if you are on a tricyclic  or a MAIO antidepressant's ...It can cause a spike in blood pressure.]
