My husband was prescribed Loratab 7.5 for years. They changed him to Norco and my understanding is because the amount of tylenol in the Loratab is basically dangerous for long time users. I'm glad they switched him, I just wish we had known earlier.
That's what I like to see is posts like this!
The differences are so minimal it isn't even worth mentioning....
If you look at a football team there are all colors, sizes, but there all the same.......
narcotic pain pills even though have a place in this world have a very dark side which create addicts......
They destroy people and their families........
Do you think a destroyed family cares if it was Norco, Vicodin, or Oxycotin that did it.......
AMEN, to the Drama Free Night! MY GOD !
Anyway, Hydro's are generic for Vicoden, and Loratab (just a different name but same) but the norco's are different, and usually are perscribed after surgerory. norco have more pain med and less tylonel.
like the Loratabs, or Hydrocodone come in 5/500 (ususal for denists), 7.5/500, 7.5/750 and even 7.5/1000 vs the norco are 1.0/325 and alot more pontent.
I just happen to know because I'm tappering off of the 7.5 Hydro's and my best friend is on the same for his chronic back pain. but when he had surg, the doc gave him the 1.0 (1 gram)/325 of Norco. He said it was TO MUCH, that he could not even work on them, and just stuck with the loratab 7.5/500
Hope that helped my friend, and God Bless,
Todd
I laughed a bit when reading that... yes you only got 5mgs... trust me.. its better in the long run...
mine say norco 5/325 (looking at empty bottle). Does that mean it is only 5 mg of vicodin. I know I'm off them now but can't help but feel shortchanged if everyone else got 10 mgs and i got 5 mg! Hows that for addict thinkin'! Pretty sick, huh.
Agree guys, basically the only differance is the amount of the acetaminophen.
Yeah, I guess you are right but first thought was WTF!! I read the "10/325" once and thought that person just had a different kind and let it go. Then 2 more people said they got 10 mgs. lol
I used to always feel jipped when I got 5's too.. and if I got Darvocet I was calling by the end of the day to have it switched...I used to think "stupid docs don't they know I need percaset".. addict thinking..
i guess that is why i always liked the norco's better....
thanks
And yes Norco is 10/325 mg of tylenol
Basically none...Hydro is a generic name for Vicodin....it's all the same, just different drug companies, some generic, and some brand name....make sense?
The difference is manufacturer and amount of APAP in it.. Vicodin comes in 5/500, 7.5/750 10/600. I think Norco has less tylenol in it... I could be wrong about that.. All three vicodin loritab and norco are all hydrocodone and APAP
