If you do a taper, is there someone you trust that can hold your pills for you? This may help you stay on target.
Thank u both I can not taper I have try I end up taken more and more and u know but I think with the dr's help I can do this
Tell him just like you said it here, you got a problem with the pills, became dependent and want his/her help getting off.
Your doctor will help you,it's good to come clean with everyone when you decide to get drug free.
Keep posting, the folks on here are great, plus it really helps.good luck!
Hi,
If you have a good relationship with your doctor then I think you are doing the right thing. The only way to go about this and to be sure you get help is to be honest. Tell him that you have begun abusing the medication and you have become addicted. Ask him to set you up on a taper plan. That being said, know that tapering is tricky business and not always successful. If you plan to go that route, you are best doing it with help from a non-addict who can hold your pills and dispense them according to the schedule.
Know that even with a taper you will go through withdrawal once you get lower in the schedule. You have to make up your mind that this is what you want and know that it is best and just do it. It will take a lot of work and conviction on your part but it is doable.
I wish you the best. Let us know how you make out.
