Good morning, welcome & thank you so much for reaching out!

I'm really glad to hear that you haven't used since you posted. Good for you!

I want you to know that you're not alone. You're in the right place. Miracles happen here. You can beat this thing & have a healthy baby if you want it badly enough & are dedicated & clear about what you'll have to do going forward.

As you know, Meth is a terrible drug. You mentioned that you've previously miscarried. I know that the cravings are bad but they will ease. VIC (above) makes a really important point. If you want to make this work, it's really important that you cut off anyone & anything that has to do with Meth or triggers you to use. Your addiction will tell you that this is impossible -- undoable. It will whisper to you that you'll need an 'escape hatch' down the line. Please don't listen because it's a lie to keep you shackled. Fear & lack of clarity are the enemies & lead us to disaster. Try not to think about tomorrow or even a couple of hours from now. All you need to do right now to stay clean is to focus on this very minute -- to not use in the moment -- one second at a time. Don't look down that tunnel & psych yourself out. YOU CAN DO THIS!! Start telling yourself that you're so much stronger than you realize because in actuality, you are. ;) You & the baby deserve a life of possibility & health. When you feel weak please read the following:

'Methamphetamine-abusing mothers showed the common characteristic of uncontrolled high blood pressure during their pregnancy—a serious risk that causes severe, life-threatening stress to the fetus. Almost 20% of pregnant methamphetamine users had uncontrolled blood pressure, and another 10% had experienced placental abruption—two exceptionally rare complications during pregnancy that affect less than 1% of the general population. More than half of methamphetamine-abusing mothers had delivered premature births, while only 17% of the control pregnancies were preterm.

Twenty-nine percent of methamphetamine-using mothers had cesarean births, whereas the control group only experienced cesarean deliveries 23% of the time. Babies born the methamphetamine abusers had low scores on a newborn health test 6% of the time, but only 1% of births from the control group had low health scores. Babies of methamphetamine-using mothers were more likely to undergo neonatal mortality compared to the control group; 4% of methamphetamine-related births died shortly after birth whereas only 1% of births from the control group experienced neonatal deaths.

Mothers who used methamphetamine during their pregnancies showed remarkable differences compared to mothers from the control group. More than two-thirds of methamphetamine-abusing mothers reported having fewer than five prenatal appointments during their pregnancy, compared to 10% of mothers from the control group. Methamphetamine-using women were more likely to experience domestic violence compared to the control group. Almost one-fourth of methamphetamine-using mothers reported domestic violence.

Furthermore, just 12% of methamphetamine-using mothers were married, but 46% of the control group’s mothers were married. The majority of methamphetamine-using mothers was older, white, English-speaking, unemployed, and abused other substances. After successful delivery, 40% of methamphetamine-using mothers lost custody of their babies who were then placed in foster care, Child Protective Services, adoption, or were receiving care from another individual.

The predominance of these demographics, the researchers claim, can help doctors identify methamphetamine use among pregnant women and help circumvent morbid maternal and neonatal outcomes. Sometimes the physical characteristics of methamphetamine abuse—such as "meth mouth," low weight, and skin sores—can indicate a methamphetamine-abusing patient to a health physician. However, especially in the face of higher methamphetamine use among women, some patients do not exhibit these noticeable features.

Toxicity screening can help determine the presence of methamphetamine in a mother, but only if she has used the substance within the past 36 hours. It is vital that doctors detect substance abuse in expecting mothers early on since the neonatal effects of methamphetamine use are dangerous, irreversible, and permanent. By evaluating these common characteristics among pregnant women, doctors may be able to identify methamphetamine abuse more easily, and can implement intervention and prevention strategies earlier during the pregnancy.

Also, I'm including a link to pics of infants born to meth-addicted moms. I know this may seem harsh but I just wanted to offer you anything I could so that you can steel your resolve, make an appointment with an OBGYN & get yourself some form of counseling/support to help you through it all & to better understand how you can emerge from all this to a happier life. I think this site might be a good place to start to get some help & support (It's called Mothers Against Methamphetamine.)

Wishing you & all your children -- born & unborn only the best. Please let us know how it's going. We're here & we're pulling for all of you!

Hi Girl..I had to check in and find this post. I know, I know and I know how hard it is. If your Hub does not use that is a really great one right there. The Big thing is not to go around any one that uses or do not take any calls..The Tape in the Brain will play it again over & over to talk you right back into .."Just One More Time".
Get to the Dr asap. They will be able to calm you down a bit by checking the baby, as Sarah mentioned above. Stick around OK??
I really want you to make it through and for the rest of your Life.
You can pm me anytime too..You will get more support if this keeps getting Bump up..I am praying for you, baby and family.

I would make an appt with your OB as soon as you can.  Please talk with him/her about this.  They will be able to monitor you and the baby,  Are you still using needles?  I know we are asking you a ton of questions but it will help us help you.

No! You just have this Disease of Addiction. I have apparently had this for the last 40 years from using here & there until the opiates/methadone really got me.
Have you been getting any out side support?? Going to meetings, church, therapist, etc..?
It is really hard work to stay clean, but I have noticed it eases up a bit as far as cravings go. BUT I could never, ever do this alone.
Me, Myself and I do not get along..So now I make it a WE thing.
Just try to stay Calm and think about that Beautiful Baby you are going to have. You would never want to hurt it by using or drinking..Right?
I would stick close to the site and get to some aftercare. When you have those cravings call someone or get on here.
I was just thinking today when I ate something and I still wanted more, I got up and redirected myself by doing something and then I was not hungry anymore..The same goes for those cravings too.
Please do not be Scared..Just get some Support. NO BAD THOUGHTS!
Stick close on here right now..OK?
Bless
Vickie
