Hey you two.....I've probably read other posts of those who at their max were ingesting LOTS of hyrdros, but my brain was too dead to register who they might have been. I was maxing out "broke - $$" and zombie-like as well at 20-30 hyrdros/day. The clock went really, really slow.....minute to minute, then 5 min to 5 min increments. I was "dosing 2-10 mgs every hour on the hour" so the clock was "my permission and friend" until I went into w/d.
I weaned down to 10-10 mg and then subs (and hated them) and then ct!
It really does get better and time goes by.....I was SOOOO sick, too and had not even found this site until I was well over 60 days clean.
In fact, I was so drugged out that I couldn't even imagine getting on a pc and learning anything in that state.
Ben727.....Happy 66!! And biscuitman, make sure you save a record somehow of what you are going thru and/or sharing. It helped me IMMENSELY to look back and find just one blessed thing that had passed thru the w/drawals! It will help me (anytime I need to remember in detail) what those first days were like.......personalized.
Blessings to both of you.......Biscuitman.....I decided to NOT use even if my rear fell off!!! You can do it!!
it is important to take small sips of fluids every 10 minutes or so. take immodium. hot showers, hot baths with epsom salts. drink ensure, gatorade.
you need to hydrate.
stay strong, take it a second at a time if need be.
you are breaking free.
this is totally not what living a clean & sober life is going to be like. I remember thinking and saying the same thing when I first started. You almost have completed your first full week! Be proud of yourself. You are doing it!
I was unable to use a computer until day 6. Hang in there!
Thanks can't hardly see. Eyes watering bad. Dry heaves. No sleep in days. Spell check is only way to type.
I went CT from 400-600 mg of HC per day. I know zombie-land all too well. You're the first person other than me I've heard refer to it as that :)
I started by getting through minutes. After time, I started getting through hours. After day seven or eight, I started getting through days. At one point, I chanted "It could be fu**ing worse" over and over for about twelve hours.
For those of us who were in deep and who go CT, you just do whatever it takes, give whatever you have to give, and HOLD FAST. I'm on day 66 now, so it is possible to make it through!
Can't wallk well, sick!!!
This ***** so bad, not to sure about this clean and sober life so far!!!
Oh wow 35 years and you went cold turkey? That is amazing just keep track of your vitals if you don't have a blood pressure cuff get one and monitor your heart beat a few times throughout the day.
Your on Day 6 after 35 years of using you are truley an inspiration to me I am on day 6 as well but I was only on them for a little over 2 years. You are truley an amazing person who wants a better life just keep focusing on that. And the freedom of not having to take a pill it truley is liberating. Keep strong you can do this.
I am on day 5...I am right there with you. Hoping it gets easier.
