Right on the money Steve.  Good luck with reducing your methadone dose.  It sounds like you are planning on going on Suboxone.  I hope it does well for you.  Keep working your program and before you know it, you will be ready to kick the sub.  I have been off the sub for just over a year and have never felt better!  All the best to you too liz.

I agree with what salsinator is saying. I also have not been on Suboxone YET. I plan on it tho, as soon as I get my methadone dose below 30mg. But everywhere I read, if you are on anything more than 16-20mg of suboxone daily, your dr. does not know how to dose you properly. I, too have not heard of tingling fingers, but IMO, I would have my dr. bring my dose down and then see how I feel.
After being on meth for WAY too long, and hearing the doses some people are on, then hearing what dose people on suboxone are on, I almost fell over. 200+mg of methadone, but only 12-16mg of suboxone. Like salsinator said, suboxone is very strong with a real long half-life,( somewhere around 36-37hrs), so unless you are coming off a real high dose of your DOC, and I understand that everyones metabolism is different, I would have the dr. lower the dose and see how you feel. worst case senario, you go back up.
Good luck, and keep us posted.

Hi Liz,

Welcome to the forum.  I have not heard of suboxone causing tingling in fingers.  But the dose you are taking - 3 times per day seem to be quite high.  Suboxone is very strong and when most people are stabilized on suboxone, the dose is much lower and only once per 24 hours.  So - this is probably you will want to talk to you doctor about.  The other meds you are on are for depression and allergies and I don't know much about them.  I took suboxone for nearly 4 years and did not have much trouble with any side effects at all.  Best of luck to you.
